I'd say some people might even think it's the best thing that ever happened to the Rose of Tralee competition. Good luck to her.

I reckon Shirley Temple Bar is already working on a bit of an auld poem for next year!

I just don't see why she has to flaunt it like that. You don't see me having to wear a little badge to say I do drink.

Did her escort know that she was a non drinker? I just don't understand why she had to keep it so secret! More consequences of the anti-drinking lobby. What's next? People having hobbies?

Does anyone know why her sexuality is relevant ?

Has anyone asked her what her position is on the move to Limerick for the replay?

Haven't you just answered your own questions with that last remark?

Seems obvious, there still are intolerant, ignorant cunts out there who'd do anything to have gay people disappear, but since that isn't an option, they settle for taking away their rights and making them as outcast as possible. Those parades are there to fight for rights. Once that happens and homosexuality is treated and seen as 100% equal to heterosexuality, they'll cease to exist -very much like parades and protests during the black movement.

You're nobody to talk about 'ranting insults' since that's all you seem to do on anything gay-related. You and a few select posters here (I see Pad has come along as predicted) have some sort of fascination with homosexuality. It's really starting to make me think.

that's quite the mouth you have there but im sure this is not the first time someone said that to you.dear o dear, the never ending attempt to link homosexuality to the struggle for racial equality always brings a smile to my face.im starting to think you actually believe that!
seems to me judging by your flippant promiscuous comments surrounding where you "stick your dick" that you indeed are infatuated with sex.just on a note of caution though when you mention homosexuality being 100% equal to heterosexuality,be aware that you have up to a 500% greater chance of contacting std's,mainly HIV,through sodomy than through natural sex according to a 2011 review into blood service policy in the UK.or maybe there just intolerant, ignorants c*nts also

But aren't human reactions to Daithi o'se limited to a puke/clatter response?

That's a normal heterosexual female repsonse to Dáithí is it not?

I was trying to explain the Rose of Tralee to a friend from abroad the other day and at some point I realised I wasn't sure which things had actually happened and which things I was remembering from the Dave McSavage sketch.

While we're on the subject of a member of a minority group winning, can I ask if a Protestant has ever won the Rose of Tralee?

Not sure, but tbh I don't know how we'd know I.e. I've never heard gay/derek/marty/ray/Ryan or daith-haaaayy ask any of the roses that question.

Pretty sure it's not on the entry form.

Why you ask? Do you think it is a rule of the festival??

I'd be interested too, does religion play any part in the competition?

They share out the masses on a rotating basis

Anyway sure the Rose song was written by a Protestant

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Being a gay celebrity (basketball player, nfl player, actress (ellen page), actor (prison break), diver (english twink guy) etc seems to gain you a ton of support.

Any hetero males disappointed just google Maiara Walsh, she's prettier and not one of those attention seeking types like the "gay and proud" one.

Ye gads. Gays to be seen and not heard...

It makes you a ton of support because it makes your life more difficult in the public eye overall.

Page may have only come out recently, but she was known to be gay going back years. It's just that stories about her being pregnant with the True Blood guy's baby sold better than the photos of her out and about with her girlfriends. You can hardly call the woman "attention seeking" when she was actively closeted throughout her previous career.

And this isn't unique, you're watching and listening to more gay people than you realise.

An example of it failing is Darren Young in the WWE, the first openly gay wrestler under contract to them. They basked in the spotlight for the first few weeks after he came out on all sorts of media before burying the guy. The McMahons are old school Republicans, it might be good for image but old man Vince is never going to elevate an openly gay guy and put top titles on him. Quite ironically PW is a very homophobic business.

I know all about Darren Young (which is weird since he doesn't have anything that stands out uniquely about him as a pro wrestler) and I don't see how they buried the guy? He's currently injured for the coming months. He's in both WWE 2k14 and will be a playable character in 2k15 too. He was met with tonnes of support and even had an official statement from the WWE supporting him. The McMahons are entrepreneurs who will do anything for money.

Now why this guy hasn't been buried is a good question. He even got an interview with Ellen at the time despite being a nobody.
