Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

United just look awful, wrong tactics, wrong team selection.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,416 ✭✭✭Zico

    Captain leading by example there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,364 ✭✭✭✭Kylo Ren

2 games into the season and he's useless? He's been holding up well and is playing beside an alcoholic.

And he still pities anyone who has to play beside Tom Cleverley!

  • Omg so predictable and then cleverly and fletcher top up the pain

If Fletcher and Cleverly can't even meet the level of Sunderland, how does Van Gaal think they have a hope in hell of competing with the top 4?

Terrible hospital pass by Cleverley. He really offers so little going forward.

I'm actually leaning towards the 'Fletcher has been worse than Cleverly today' wagon. He's done that a few times now.

this is being played at the pace of a preseason friendly.

Utd actually moved the ball quicker in pre season.

Scholes and Giggs would do better in CM today, genuinely.

Please God we buy a CM.

They're both chronically bad. I'd rather see Pearson and Rothwell in there instead at this stage.

I assume Cleverley is still following the orders he got from Moyes last season since that's apparently the reason he was **** last year.

    Cleverley's pass was awful.

If any other player on the pitch for us (barring Young/Valencia) gave that exact same pass everyone would be blaming Fletcher's could control for it. Wasn't a great pass but wasn't terrible. Fletcher's retouch however was awful.

He did exactly the same in the first half after Cleverly passed him the ball and moved into space for a 1-2, only for Fletcher to ignore him (possibly justified, as Cleverly is poor at this level) move it up the pitch, and take a comical touch outside Sunderland box that list possession and led to a counter attack for them.

I love how RVP, Rooney, Mata, Young and Valencia seem to be getting off scot-free by most even though they should be the players offering creativity in the final third.

Although Fletcher has been poor and Cleverley hasn't exactly been great they are still not the main reason we are lacking a threat up front.

The forward players seem to be content just dropping and passing, not really taking people on, or getting into great positions.

Why are the forward players dropping? Since when so Mata, Van Persie and Rooney take people on?

Fletcher and Cleverley are exactly the reasons why we are lacking up front, along with Young and Valencia.

Giggs was our best player on the field, when he played his last game at OT last season.

    Welbeck I presume for RVP.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

To be fair, Cleverly showing for the ball again there and ignored by Jones. His poor play could well have earned it but there looks to be a distinct lack of faith in him from his teammates.

Welbeck should hopefully inject some spark for us.

ha "peno" denied to RvP and then Young dives.

Oh good jaysus! How high did he get there???

Decent run by RVP prior, even if a little lucky.
    And with that, he's off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    ah Ashley.

could have been a penalty on RVP though.

Gary neville changed his tune on diving?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,495 ✭✭✭✭Billy86

Young booked. Great call ref, delighted to see that punished even if it was on us.

Van Persie's did look a penalty in replay though, but at first I thought it was a good tackle so hard to ridicule the ref in.

Flat her off, looks like Louis agrees. :p

    Fùck off Young ya diver.

    Come on Januzaj and Danny!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

Young is a sorry excuse for a footballer. We should pay someone to take him off our hands.

The RVP one? Cause Young dived.

RVP could have gone either way

Dead right from the ref, there was a tiny bit of contact but Young was already diving before it was made.

He should be read the riot act for wasting a promising position.
