Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's essentially to give you a head-start on other students. You're there all week, so you get to know the place fairly easily, rather than being like the normal first years who will be going around like headless chickens for the first week. You're in groups of about 25, that could be doing a similar course to you, so it's easy to get to know people. You do a lot of things, a lot of it is just sitting in big lectures listening to people talk, but there's other things like games and stuff to play, and if you're over 18 you get to go to the bar on the final night, there's a lot to do.
