Opening a Savings account.

I've been on a paid placement from college since June and need to start saving for next semester, starting January, as I probably will no longer be able to receive the grant (over the cut-off).

I reckon I will need about €2,500 in my account before January, so plan to put €300 a week in until Christmas, and then probably dissolve the account(or not, whichever is handier).

I want to open a savings account, with bank/credit union/post office, that will give me the best rate of interest. I will probably only withdraw money once a month starting January. Any previous experiences ??

The interest rate won't make much difference. Over 4 months, with those amounts, you might get €25 interest, before tax. You might as well just open a savings account with your current bank.
