    Wouldn't walk down Meadowbrooke, let alone live in it. Those houses all need to be gutted and practically rebuilt. And that still doesn't solve the problem that you'd probably have some of the worst neighbours in the midlands. You may as well throw the fifteen grand in the bin.

    Well if someone had a few hundred grand behind them, they could buy them out of the place if the houses are that cheap. You might not get a return on investment, but the area would have one less family of trouble makers to worry about. And yes, they'd end up somewhere else, terrorizing another area of the town.

    Sure look at Saint Mels. There were dispersed and trouble in the area dropped ever so slightly.

    I would love to own my own house for that cheap. It may only be a 10k/15k house, but it's still in a hole. I'd have to spend another 80k fortifying it :P

    Have you any idea how expensive sentry guns are?!?!

    You only need to shoot the first one. Everyone else will get the point and stay away. I'd prefer Claymores instead, but that's just me.

    I'd actually be half tempted to buy the houses and leave them boarded up. I would actually do them up at a later date.

    Indeed - One of the worst problems that we have in Ireland but as decent law abiding hard working tax payers we're not even allowed to mention it - Undesirables in our midst. God knows Athlone has far more than it's fair share......

    I think you'll need more than penguins and more than lasers.....
