Have Costa as my captain, but if he remains questionable that's changing to Rooney pretty pronto.

Rooney for me. Though I may do something regarding getting City striker coverage in for Costa if he's out for a number of weeks and captain them.

Think I might go with Sigurdsson if Costa isn't playing.

    Going for Siggy myself.

Might go for Di Maria  One of the best players in the world vs Burnley, has to be worth a punt.

    Not a good idea imo.

Costa is not playing this weekend.

Terrible idea. Will get limited minutes, if any. Will not be match fit nor have trained sufficiently with his new team mates to understand the system he will play in.

Debatable, Chelsea TV have confirmed that he is only a doubt. Will need to hear Jose's press conference later to know more.

You have got to be joking. Their new signing that they just spent £60m will play nearly the whole game, if not the full 90. Regardless of how match fit he is. It will remain that way week in, week out.

It really doesn't work that way. There's a decent chance he will be eased in like Van Persie following the World Cup

I'd imagine he'll come on as a late sub for maybe 20 mins. He gets his welcome from the fans and is eased into the hustle and bustle of a game against lower table opposition. Opposition will be tiring at that stage too so he could have an impact. As I said elsewhere, there's no hurry getting him in. If he looks good I'll consider him. Far too much of a risk for me when there are clearly already many reliable options at that price.

I was thinking Rooney but I'm now considering buying Aguero for Costa. I'll see what the news is today. If I buy Aguero I'll make him captain.

Yip.., they'll rush him into the team to make sure the Burnley fans get to see him for 90 mins.

    I'm thinking of this too

    Gylfi Sigurdsson
Rooney is the obvious option but he was terrible last week. He played quite deep too. RVP was further forward. Where will Di Maria play and will he affect Rooney? (My knowledge of football is limited to FPL :pac:). I have captaincy on Ramsey at the minute. He's got 2/2 and he's up against Liecester. Seems a safe bet to score.

    Gylfi Sigurdsson
Di Maria has only been training with United since yesterday and not even full training due to press conferences. He was not training all week due to negotations and moving country. He will not be match fit and no way will he play a full game on Saturday as he will be eased in. It's crazy to captain him but there is an abundance of crazy players in FPL so work away!

    Rvp

No city striker so tempted by Kompany....cant see stoke scoring and he is a huge threat as usual on set pieces

Don't think aguero will start.. Pelligrini said today.. "we'll see how many minutes he will get tomorrow".

    Aaron Ramsey
I'm a bit nervous of captaining Jovetic, worried that Dzeko and Aguero might start ahead of him, so I changed the captaincy to Siggy, I'm not sure if it's the right call though. Not something I want to mull over for too long!

Aguero or Van Persie, I dunno, you tell me which I should go for?

    RVP.

Sticking with Jovetic and I hope my compadres from the other night will hold firm. Although I fear we have already lost Busts to a wildcard.

Hold firm the rest of ye, Super Mick will watch over us.

    Rooney. Ramsey. Rooney. Ramsey.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,186 ✭✭✭G1032

Aguero if I wildcard. Or RVP. Or Ramsey and if I don't WC then Ramsey or Rooney

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,959 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Is Aguero going to start though? That is the only thing that is making me nervous about putting that capital c on him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,734 ✭✭✭zarquon

    Gylfi Sigurdsson
Loves weeks like this with no clear choice. Captaincy spread out for different teams meaning potential big gains or losses depending on choice.

1500 matches are going to be super nerve-wracking for me since I have no City players and Siggy captain.

Jovetic, Dzeko and Aguero are all fit according to Pellegrini.

he said Aguero is "absolutely fine" and "we'll see how many minutes he'll play".

it suggests a sub appearance, but I wouldn't be surprised if he starts and gets an hour.

i've Dzeko, not Aguero, and i'm going to captain Rooney or Ramsey for the reason that at least I know that they're definitely starting and will also play 90 barring injury.

    Aaron Ramsey
    A difficult one for me.
It currently sits with Alexis, but I also have Ramsey, Rooney and Jovetic on my team and I see all three as potentially good options.

Think that Dzeko and Jovetic will start for City with Aguero coming on if they need him.....going with Jovetic.

Van Persie to get the nod from me now.

Toying with the idea of giving the armband to Costa seeing as loads of people got rid of him. Bit early in the season for those sort of gambles though.

With all the uncertainty around Costa and Aguero (whom I could have transfered in for the former if he was nailed on for 90 min) I'll certainly go Rooney (C) Siggy (VC). Don't really have the balls for reversing this order...

Ugh, just realised united play in the early game on Saturday. I HATE captaining someone in the early Sat kick-off. Might switch to Ramsey. I know this makes no sense, but I was between the 2 anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,583 ✭✭✭NoviGlitzko

    Daniel Sturridge
Mata over Rooney or anybody else for me. Goals could be shared between RVP and Rooney so at least Mata can come up with an assist. Gets in the box just as much too. A safer bet than Rooney IMO.

Siggi at the moment but tempted by Rooney, after the Di Maria signing we might actually see some decent balls into the strikers rather than them dropping deep to try to get some service.

What is the reason that so many players hate to captain those who play early on Saturday? Any stats to support this?

    Siggy

    Yolo!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,685 ✭✭✭✭wonski

I have it on Rooney now and Silva as a VC, not convinced yet.
Siggy is out of question as I don't captain "cheap" players.
    Ramsey is third in line.

    Rooney or Silva:confused::confused::confused:

It's not based on stats at all! It's just that if Rooney (in this case) returns a 2 pointer I'm left sh1tting myself for the rest of the weekend!

A bit illogical i know, but can't help feeling that way!

Have a feeling Burnley will put in a performance against United tomorrow and it's turning me off Rooney. Tempted to go with Aguero now that I've gone against everything I previously said and brought him in :o

I'm a United fan,we are playing poorly and for the life of me.I can't remember the last time we put in a performance in an early kick-off either.

No doubt Rooney will go on the rampage if I give the captaincy to someone else for the first time this season.

Going with Rooney, think he'll be fired up after being announced as England captain. Also with Di Maria due to play he will get much better service than from the likes of Valencia and Young.

I think its mainly that come 3 o clock on a saturday you are keeping an eye on all the games, your captain, your assists etc. If your captain plays in the early game and does nothing your weekend is effectively over before it begins and you are looking at all the other games thinking i should have went with (insert player with double figures)

Saying that im going with Roomey. Di Maria to give him decent service and he should be im good spirits with England armband.

I'm steering well clear of United players.

    Told ya

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test
