Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Download Mode - help?

    I may have done a silly thing. Misplaced my phone charger so decided to grab the USB cable from my chromecast to charge off of my laptop. Then I got lazy and decided to just plug the phone into the TV to charge it.

    Now the screen just says "Download Mode - DO NOT UNPLUG UNTIL COMPLETE". I have no idea what this means and would like to unplug my phone now. Anyone any idea of how dangerous that could be?

    You may just have discovered a handy JTAG method to force some apparently bricked Sammy's into dowsnload mode!!

    Like here:

    Or, you may have pressed the 3- button combo needed to get into d/l mode, when connecting your phone to the telly???

    If the former, it could come in useful at some point. :)

    Fairly sure I wasn't pressing anything when I plugged it in.

    Well it looks like you gotta JTAG.....hope you never need to use it.

    Did your phone charge?? Is it a Samsung??

    I have no idea what that means, but it sounds positive, hooray!

    I think it charged a little bit. It's a Nexus 4.

    Ahh, so I don't know about Nexus, there was a Samsung Nexus, but not the 4..

    I think there is no problem writh the Nexus, got the 7 2013 meself, brilliant!!!

    There is some stuff on XDA here, if you are interested, but I wouldn't worry!!!
