This isn’t true. Bank of Ireland has a range of product options for customers in negative equity who wish to move home.  Each application is assessed on a case by case basis and Bank of Ireland mortgage customers moving home can carry the negative equity portion of their old mortgage forward to their new mortgage up to a maximum new loan to value of 175%.  A Bank of Ireland mortgage adviser would be happy to talk you through this.
