Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

occasional iPad 'slide to unlock' problem

    Hi all,

I'm sure you're familiar with the 'slide to unlock' function on the iPad.

So, sometimes, when I slide to unlock, it seems to get stuck in some way, and then even when I try to slide to unlock again, it refuses to 'slide' more than a few millimetres.

It seems to happen if I am tilting the iPad as I try to unlock it, and the screen is rootating from horizontal to vertical (or landscape to portrait, or whatever the terms are). If it happens, the only thing I can do is to turn it off and restart it. Not the standby power button either, that doesn't work - it needs to be the full 'side to power off'.

Has anybody else had this problem, or know anything about it?

Something similar happened to mine recently. I thought it was related to the smartcover auto unlock. I didn't have to restart but did press the standby power off and on again which seemed to sync its state again.

I did try the standby power button, but it didn't work for me.

It's happened quite a few times now, to the point that I'm unconsciously more careful when sliding to unlock than before.

Sounds like a bug. Hopefully it'll be fixed in iOS 8.

I've never experienced this with any iPad, but I've had it happen with my iPhone 5 a few times.
