hipsters are people who listen to or watch obscure bands and films just to be different?
What about people who actually like those things and aren't just trying to be different or to upset people like yourself?

So in your opinion you can get loads of high profile bands to perform live in your back garden? :pac:

it's called an I pod docking station I believe

So you are trolling. Because anyone who actually believes music played at home is the same as being at a concert, is stupid. You're not stupid are you?

So basically, every concert ever is a waste of money?

I am guessing you are a "bare essentials" type, so. :pac:

they show their hand though when they start to dislike said things, due to fact that the masses have caught on that it is actually quite cool.

its a need to like something others dont like rather than actually liking that thing, ergo its a reflection on themselves rather than anything

Fully in agreement there. Even though The Simpsons is overall terrible nowadays, that episode is actually brilliant - and nails the hipster phenomenon.

is anyone watching the coverage on rte? some of the scenes in the tent that Benjamin Booker is playing are particularly cringe, like an episode of father ted

Hehe pretty cringe alright, and then he accidentally referred to them as English and swiftly corrected himself "English... Irish... crowd"

    Oooops

It's like they gathered the most annoying cnuts they could find in the country to do the coverage, then told them to go and find more cnuts like them from the crowd to talk to...

(I'm not at all bitter about not being there...!)

That was the guys from 'Portlandia', a great show, and Patton Oswalt as their son.
