Media player?

I'm thinking of buying a media player, but to be honest, I'm not the most technically minded person, and not too sure what I need to look for in it. I have two tvs that I'd possibly use it with. One has a usb slot and hdmi slot, the other has no usb, but several hdmi slots. The movies, etc that I want to play are in various formats, mostly mp4, mkv, avi at a quick glance.

Would something like this do the job? --> Apparently I can't post a link, but it's a Sumvision Cyclone Micro2 on Amazon for £21.99

Also there's a version 4 of this available for £40.35, is there any reason why I'd need the latest version or would the older one work just as well?

    Thanks for any help.
