Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I thought they would have been snapped up. I see you have to do a photo registration thing on the website. Will give it a go so. Cheers

Photo registration very straightforward. They released a batch of tickets last week and like you, I am surprised they were not snapped up.

Shocked that Westwood got a pick ahead of Donald, would have liked to see Jimenez in there after a good season, himself and Bjorn would have been a great pairing.

People keep talking about Westwoods distance but it's links you could hit it 310 down the middle and get a bounce into the hay, I'd much rather have Donald's short game out there.

Having said that, it's probably the strongest European team for years!

Gleneagles is not links! It is in the middle of the countryside, I've played the PGA course.

Really? All pictures I have seen were of a links course, maybe it was a different gallery. I guess it makes sense for Westy to be in then but I'd always worry if he had a 4 foot putt to win the Ryder Cup!

I'd worry if he had a put half that length!

You can look at it two ways :

Lee holes 94% of putts inside 5' :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,138 ✭✭✭SaveOurLyric

    Or :

Lee ranks 178th out of 185 on tour. :(

Jesus, I've went from - having tickets for this since last September to now having zero interest in it. Probably bought the tickets out of pure excitement last year when I got lucky through the ballot.

Has anyone else lost interest in the Ryder Cup? As good as Medinah was (will never be trumped), I can't get as pumped for this. The line-up is poor. As well as that, it's about 1/50 that players like McIlroy, Mickelson etc. don't care about it, same goes for Woods.

I wouldn't say I've lost interest, but I can see why your enthusiasm has dampened. This looks like it's going to be incredibly one sided to me (in Europe's favour obviously). Something like 2004. Could be over as a contest before the singles, but maybe it would be worth being there to witness a possible European record winning score?

What gives you grounds for such optimism? I would agree Europe should be favourites, but mostly because they are likely to deal better with poor weather. Beyond that it is I8 hole matchplay and anything can happen. Any of either team can beat any of the other and with fourballs and foursomes, it is a complete lottery.
I expect the Americans to be up for it and I expect them to be a more cohesive and united team without the distracting and at times poisonous presence of Woods.
I think it will still be all to play for on Sunday.

Not this season, ranked 127 in greens in regulation.

Yes but he was playing guff at the start of the season - I'd be more interested in his stats since he left Foley?

I thought he left Foley in February? Looking at the stats on the PGA tour it seems much of a muchness. His top 20 in the Bridgestone and the PGA seem to be a result of good putting actually.

McGinley said it was his recent form in big tournaments that swung it over Donald. Very much a judgement call - or punt - either way.

Now that we know the wild card picks, I think we should we post future comments in the Road to Ryder Cup thread (Had Ryder Jug typed there!!!)

Very strong European team. Should win handily - 17-11 I predict.

    Damn you Zach Johnson ;)
