    That's what smartwatches are really.

Why would I ever want to feel someone's heart beat on my wrist?

When Kevin Lynch was changing features of the clock widgets, he used the crowd to change them - scroll up and down.

because he couldn't zoom there. he could have used touch. the wheel zooms or scrolls if fully zoomed in but you can always use touch to scroll but not to zoom.

Yes, this is really worrying, I was hoping Apple would up the game in the smart watch arena, Apple usually help drive things forward and force others to do the same to compete but I really worry that they've lost the plot with this, I don't want a smart watch to be able to do loads of crap I want it to extend my phone in a way that makes it less intrusive. Not sure this will do that.

I dunno, if they wanted to tie it to the iPhone why not just have the crown and siri ?

just cause you can get the watch to do a million things doesn't mean that you should

That's it. It's more of a toy than something that's actually useful

I’m not disagreeing. But people said that about the iPhone and the iPad as well.

and 3 - 500 euros buys a lot of (non smart) watch these days

I think its great I thinks it just all the features being thrown at people at once is putting them off. Considering most people won't use most of the functions like the chances of using the drawing thing is slim to none same with stuff like the pinterest, directions, weird emojis and a lot of the other stuff.

Hate to say it Apple but I don't think I'll be using my €500 smart watch while I'm working out.

The battery on the watch will struggle to last a days charge.

Impressed with some of the smart watch features, fitness stuff is a bit rubbish.having to have iphone with you rules put any level of serious fitness use, especially with the new bigger iPhones.

does it shout at you and tazzer when you are sitting on the couch eating a pizza?

I don't know about this watch. Seems a bit of an ok design but not their best. Some brilliant features and that but I think they've dropped the ball design wise. The UI is very black and kinda reminds me of the original iPhone.

Apple Watch and iPhone 6 Plus for me. Can't wait.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,324 ✭✭✭chrislad

I'm not going to bother with the Watch, as I picked up a TomTom Multi Sport a couple weeks ago. Waterproof and light, and I don't need bells and whistles so I'll stick with that.

The iPhone Plus is looking like something I will get. Is there are word on the iOS 8 GM release?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,359 ✭✭✭DubDJ

It's going to be some crazy amount of spending for most people. Probably over €1,000. I'm lucky that it will still work with my iPhone 5.
