Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I assume Zayed would be ineligible for the game in tallaght?

I believe he was given Shams blessing to play.

Win tonight and I think we'll stay up. Lose, and we're in the playoff at best. Hoping that Clarke is back and Ben Mohamed continues his good form.

Looking forward to a good game at the Brandywell.

Only going to make the 2nd half, praying for a win!

A draw should do tonight in terms of top 4.

Really worried about the game in Athlone tonight. The last three games we've played, against Bray, and Bohs twice, we've been worse than brutal.

A win would be huge for Bray. Jake Kelly back too. And its 1-0 after 1 minutes :D

Something to do with the flood lights I believe

Zayed not even on the bench so I'm guessing he was prohibited from playing after all.

Bye bye. Can't see us beating either Galway or Shels in a playoff if we're lucky enough to even be in one.

Absolutely delighted with that, and a clean sheet to boot. Chuffed for Akinade too. Lets hope they can build on this and the Cork game and grab a few more points and avoid a playoff.

    Apologies Hammer!

This team refuse to lose! Edging ever closer. Title number 10 within touching distance. McMillan the best substitute in the league.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,936 ✭✭✭kksaints

Sounded like we hung on just about in the Brandywell but a win is a win no matter how its gotten.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,224 ✭✭✭overshoot

and thats the end of any faint promotion hope. 4 games with harps & shams, all away winners. that and the home cobh game the difference for competing for the playoffs.
    ah still have the cup!

Fair play to Bohs, they really put it up to us but my heart lifted when i seen McMillan coming out for the 2nd half.I knew he would score...i just knew it.

What an amazing season. I would love to see McMillans Minutes to Goals ratio. He now has over 12 goals this season at least

Overall just not league games obvs, think its 7 in League now for someone who barely started 7 games Id say

Was up at this. Two zingers from Bohs. Look out for them in Monday night. The absolute noise of the ShedSideArmy is unreal and was non stop. Fair play on the own and hope ya's go on to win it outright, great side.

I'm away on holidays so missed the game. Was listening to it on Dundalk FM and the reaction to Dundalk's third goal was fantastic. I was transported back to Oriel for a split second.

It's a pity only 2600 people came to watch though. This team should be getting over 3000 for every home game. Anyway, onwards and upwards to next weeks showdown with Pats. Hopefully we can rectify last seasons underwhelming performance in Inchicore.

    Fixed your post!

20 people (many of whom have left the SSA in last few days) do not make up the Shed!

15 in total for the season i believe.

Excellent first half from Sheppard and Waters who tired badly at the end. Second half was pretty turgid stuff.

I still can't believe what Coleman was thinking. McMillan upfront for the start when he had North on the pitch and Cretaro on the bench. Then he takes Russell off and leaves Cawley, Maguire and McMillan on and gets booed by the away fans.

Honestly, for a game that Sligo had to win, it was conference level tactics.
Zayed not even on the bench so I'm guessing he was prohibited from playing after all.

He was literally on the bench pre-game chatting with someone (rather than joining in with the pre game exercises), but not in the squad.

Awful game of football between two poor teams in tallaght. Spillane won it for Shams. Don't understand how he is a professional footballer.

Coleman is an idiot. He better be gone next year.

Good to see Raf back. Probably the only positive.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,925 ✭✭✭✭anncoates

Poor enough game but rovers clearly the better side on the night.

Agreed, but for how long? The injuries are starting to mount up there.

As for Coleman, I really cant figure him out. There have been games where he has sent the team out to play positive, attacking football - and that has reaped results. But there have been other instances, like last night, where he seems to resort to Sunday league tactics.

    This. It is so confusing.
