Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Mata should have scored...

Nice sweeper keeper by De Gea.

    Di Maria showing his quality.

With such poor depth in defence, why use a formation that needs more defenders..?

    Di Maria is just class!!

    Looks good yeah

Di Maria looking the business so far.

Burnley are poor though. That United defense was there for the taking the first ten minutes. They've settled now. Burnley missed their chance

  • Di Maria is just class.

Immediate impact to our creativity, nearly provided 2 assists already. In fact that's probably more than we have done in the last 3 games

Don't worry, that will be fixed soon. Being bad in defence and attack is how you stay in the United team, just ask Valencia and Young.

Valencia should be out on his ear. Can't cross and won't take on players.

    Rooney is anymous again.

    No he's not.

Too many long balls, story of the last few seasons. More talented players playing to the strengths of the opposition.

Nearly an assist for Di Maria

Di Maria finding pace is the issue in England!

    Some strike that

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,006 ✭✭✭edgecutter

Decisions need to be made. Rooney, RVP and Mata are not working. 3 at the back isn't working.

Burnley Stoking it up with the consistent long balls.

This is a horrendous game of ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,797 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

No one from midfield showing from the ball combined with defenders who aren't comfortable on the ball means United just have to keep lumping it.

I think it has gone beyond the stage of, "They just need time to get used to it", for me. Pick two from the three, and go from there.

3 at the back will look a hell of a lot better when Shaw and Raf are back.

It's more the defence shítting the bed and hoofing it forward, hardly plays to the strengths of RVP, Rooney, Mata, Di Maria, Young or Valencia. The final 2 having unknown strengths but included them anyway.

When did Ashley Young last beat a man and do something with the ball.

Back 3 not working again, hopefully LVG will change it at half time.

What's the point of having Mata, Rooney, Di maria and RVP when all we do Is lump it aimlessly up the field.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Its like Burnley have a quota of passes to be hit over 30 yards, in order to get paid, or something.

    Could say same about United

I watched Chelsea play Burnely here a week ago. The difference between us and them is night and day.

The controlled the game after going one down. We are scrappy, defensively shakey, sloopy with our passing and we look easy to play against.

We'd be doing well to get a point here.

We need to play a back four again.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,181 ✭✭✭Crimson King

Fletcher needs to go, just offers nothing at all!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,747 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

Is Fellaini injured or what? He'd suit this hoofball rather well

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 846 ✭✭✭TheFullDuck

fletcher has been poison. not then first game either. hopefully Blind replaces him permanently

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Looking at it, there's not a lot on United's bench to go about changing much at half time, tbh.

  • When Burnley have more pace in there attack than utd you know something wrong

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,566 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Hard to grasp what Van Gaal is aiming for with his approach here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,161 ✭✭✭Cypher_sounds

Books fletcher but not the guy that stopped di maria by grabbing his legs:confused:

That kind of thing annoys me. Jones rugby tackled Di Maria and no booking but Fletcher gets booked for that.
