Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How the Fùck was it a dive?

He threw himself to the ground after contact that did not actually cause or require him to do so.

Is there another term for that? Dive is always the one id use.

Burnley need to be winning games like this if they want to stay up.

I'd take any RB in the top 10 divisions of England over Valencia.

What an awful team to watch...Rooney, RVP, mata..all of them f@@king useless

Bad times ahead for man Utd.go home van gaal. Brings on Anderson, starts fletcher..give me a break

That handball was a penalty unless you operate in the Alan Shearer/Michael Owen English commentary rule of nothing is a penalty unless you break someone's legs

It could have been given but it l would be harsh his stomach took the pace and direction out of the ball and it hit his hand accidentally.

I thought the Young call was closer but again far from stonewall

  • Knex. wrote: »
Don't think it was as stonewall a penalty as some suggest (the Young incident, that is).

    Pretty 50-50.

Whats the rule on pushing players?

Bleak. No cutting edge. Being bossed for periods against Burnley seemed incomprehensible not so long ago.

United will never come close to the top 4 while Valencia, Anderson and Young are on the potch.

Burnley are no mugs. Our 3-1 win there didnt justify how well they played. Theyll be a tough team to play all season.

Stalemate in the relegation 6 pointer at Turf Moor

with or without them on the pitch they won't come close to Top 6

That was woeful, no urgency and no effort to play quickly through midfield and actually give the ball to the forwards. Almost every time we went forward someone would stop and count "ok 8, 9, 10... 11 players, right now I'll try and get the ball in, then when we score against 11 men back it'll look even better".

There's no rule there to defend him for that, the fact that his arms are both raised means he has no excuse for it.

Thought Evans was brutal - thought Jones did decent..

Good to see S. Reid still playing - Trap really screwed him over with regards Ireland

There's no rule that makes it a guarentee either, it's a split second for refs to make a call

My first and second view was no peno

Was thinking the same. Much more solid team than I gave them credit for. However, realistically United should still have annihilated them. No excuse for them to get 0 goals.

The way Utd are playing the only one of their upcoming "easy" fixtures that looks like a gimme is QPR at home. If they don't get their sh1t together before a very tough October and November they could be seriously languishing around the wrong end of the table come Christmas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

I really didn't know Scholes was that tiny.

be some craic around here if utd are in a dog fight down there !!

I thought it was a certainty that United would be top after a few games considering the kind fixtures. Shows what I know.

The great thing about this as well is that Man U have a handy start to the season fixture wise and they've still yet to win. Great stuff altogether.

Bad start to the campaign for united, made worse considering they had a handy few opening games.

Clutching at straws when 2 fairly iffy pen shouts are all we have to cling to. Though Ashley actually didnt dive this time in fairness. When most of the injuries clear up I can see United going for a 4 3 3 if they want any balance that is. Herrera Carrick Blind and choose three from Rooney Di Maria Mata and RVP

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,809 ✭✭✭Gone Drinking

This system won't work with these players. Middle was too packed and defended by Burnley for them to get in there, meaning they had to play the ball out to Valencia and Young who just don't have the quality.

Mata was awful, he doesn't work in a Rooney/RVP team and Valencia was awful at trying to get the ball in, one trick pony with no results.

I wouldn't be worried as a United supporter as Vidal and Hummels will help them greatly this season :pac:

World record transfer at 10;59pm Monday night I see it now.

Mats Hummels is not mobile enough to play as part of a back 3. That's if United were in for him.

They seemingly were, but it was more of a non-story. He was never leaving Dortmund.

    1. We need to go back to a back 4
    2. We need to drop Rooney Rvp or Mata
3.We still need a world class central midfielder
4.We still need a workdclass centre back
    5.Januzai should start

    This is what we need

    de gea
    Raf-jones-new cb-shaw
    herera---new cm---
    Januzai----mata
    dimaria
    Rvp or Rooney
