So Borini is staying and will be our 4th choice striker. Personally I dont see anything wrong with him wanting to stay an fight for his place. Personally I think he may turn out to be a better option than Lambert but time will tell. The lad will feel he has something to prove as hes never really got a proper crack at it due to injuries etc

According to the Arsenal thread, an old flame from here in Toby Alderweirld (sp) is going to Southampton.

Assume its a stepping stone before moves to Liverpool next summer

Sandro to QPR for £10M. For awhile he looked to be the real deal, will be interesting to see how he gets on in a relegation battle.

Loan only isn't it? £1 million for the year. Another greedy git whose wage demands scuppered a permanent move.

Makes no difference to Assiadi does it? He stays on his LFC contracted wages (presumably paid for in full by Stoke) and he'll be a year nearer a Bosman free at the end of the season at which time he'll be able to command much higher wages as the club he signs for won't have to pay a transfer fee.

What would you do in the circumstances? Sign for Stoke on lower wages and give up the chance for higher wages in a year or two just to keep LFC who signed but didn't play you happy? Yeah right!

Micha Richards on loan to Fiorentina for £3.5M with option to buy at £4.7M. A bargain relative to some of the crazy fees we've seen this Summer.

What happened to Borini to QPR?

Presume we didn't get a keeper in?

Probably cost about 500k for every game he will play.

No keeper in but Valdes is a free agent so deal not needed to be done today

Borini on his way to Sunderland

Actually feel sorry for him, never really got a chance at all and seemed like a good lad.

John Guidetti gone to Celtic from Man City. I do think he would have been an excellent 3rd/4th choice striker for us for a very cheap price had Borini left. He needs to leave City before he can prosper

How? I thought only one player per club was allowed, or are loans different? Must be.

Yep, only one player allowed on loan to a club, so unless Coates has had a change of mind, the helimachopper may as well come back.

Impossible to see Borini getting sold in time.

It's probably all sorted, but just not confirmed yet. Or they're going to get an extension (like Arsenal are for Welbeck apparently).

To be honest, I don't really care what Utd, or any other Club do, unless they get a player that we wanted and missed out on. All we can do is look after our own squad and play whomever the other teams put out...

Crazy deadline day altogether and a few signings that came out of nowhere.
The standout potential deals has to be Welbeck to Arsenal and Negredo off to Valencia.

Welbeck being a good deal ? If a team that finished 7th last season are selling a player then you know said player is pretty bad .

I could be wrong, but I thought the only player we publically wanted and a rival got was Sanchez (and I suppose Remy too, but it looks like we pulled the plug on that one, not the player). I know there was a lot of talk about Falcao for us, but I don't remember the club saying so, more just rumours?

Anyhow, I suppose what I'm really saying is our business is clearly done, so I don't really care what the other clubs do. Now, if for example a rival and us were both still fighting over the signature of a player tonight, *then* I'd be interested, but it's pretty safe to say that we're not chasing anyone this evening!

When I had seen Welbeck linked with Spurs, I was thinking Spurs fans wouldn't be too impressed. Just a strange one that Arsenal went for him.

I was also very surprised that City let Negredo go.

Honestly , I'm not too bothered by their signings, not for this season anyway, they'll still be slow, one paced, disjointed for a while yet, they are not a purring well oiled machine like Liverpool, what BR has instilled in the team can't be bought, I'd fancy Liverpool to beat utd comfortably like last season if they met now.

Weakens a rival, and we get a quality finisher. He's available apparently.

Sturridge only scored 30 goals in 134 apps before he went to Liverpool. Welbeck is a fantastic bit of business.
