Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. I'm stopping blaming the players now it's Rodgers tactics that need to be questioned!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

We should probably start giving the squad players a run out in the league and save the first teamers for the cups.

Passing have been so Poor. It's like Strangers playing there together.

This is the Reading Brendan Rodgers I think.

1 good performance in how many games?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Balotelli could have Iniesta, Silva and Fabregas playing him in and he still wouldn't score.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,316 ✭✭✭kevohmsford

I wonder what Kess73 and Mike65 are making of all this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,887 ✭✭✭✭klose

    Questions need to be asked

This is the Reading Brendan Rodgers I think.

One could argue that with Suarez, he found a system that worked, and it was immense.

Is he being found out now that he doesn't have that incredible resource to work with?

    Starting to look like it.

Ask Harry I think he knows one of them in real life :pac:

If Rafa was sacked in the morning, Rodgers would be too.
I'm sure of it, though I don't necessarily want that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,207 ✭✭✭Hangballlouie

I'll ask again like I did after QPR.
I think you all know what I'd answer.
I'm expecting to get abuse but fcuk it, it's how I've felt for the majority of the time Rodgers has been in charge.

For me, The Rodgers is more Pardew than Paisley.

    Yep.

jesus i just cant see us beating anyone now at this stage, by the time sturridge is back we could be 8 points off 4th, i know its early but i think we have run our race already

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

We are the worst team ever at bombarding the other teams box in the final minutes when chasing a goal.

    Again.

This is all on Rodgers imo...****ing stupid setup and tactics.

    Awful performance all over.

Rodgers needs to turn this around asap

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,281 ✭✭✭✭ben.schlomo

Pathetic performance, old habits killing us again at the back, giving the ball away all over the pitch, no pace in attack, no urgency, slow and insipid build up play, no plan B. Awful stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,380 ✭✭✭daRobot

    Madrid and Chelsea next.

    My god....

Unless Rodgers turns this around quickly he'll be gone before the end of the season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,648 ✭✭✭mav79

Not many players can even hold their head high after that performance! After a positive display midweek Rodgers has to take the blame for changing things up yet again, back to the same pathetic performances.

We've gone from one of the quickest teams in the league last season to a team that looks like it's playing in concrete boots and underpants.

Our summer spending looking dreaful at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

It's like Rodgers' still thinks he has Suarez & Sturridge up there.

The setup and tactics are completely inept without them.

so, so angry at the state of us right now.

Does someone want to let Kerrigooney know the result...I can't willingly let him sit through that.

Where was the pressing like v Swansea?

We sat so deep it was ridiculous

This is turning ini an awful season. We're in serious bother

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,293 ✭✭✭✭rob316

    Disgusting performance.

You can blame balotelli and the manager but bar skrtel and Gerrard not a single one is fit to wear that shirt.

    ****ing disgraceful.

A hammering from Madrid and Chelsea next, the pressure will be unbearable then.

He won't mate, he isn't good enough. Simple. I've been saying it for weeks and eventually everyone will agree with me. If Alan Pardew had the Liverpool team with Suarez and Sturridge playing as well as they were last year, then he'd have done the same as The Rodgers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,588 ✭✭✭daithijjj

When you play like this, week after week, its the manager who is at fault.

Everyone knows Balotelli cant play on his own. Sterling selected out wide wasted a form player. Then you have someone like Lallana who does nothing but do well every chance he has got not get a kick.

Joke decisions all over the place from Rodgers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

Our woes this season are absolutely nothing to do with Balotelli

I'm sure you'll get some abuse over this, but if the next 10 league games are like the first 10 league games questions will start to be asked I'd say, although unless it gets really bad I don't think he will be in real danger this season.

Hopefully Sturridge will come back soon and we'll improve although it's hard to see how just that could change things.

    Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish. Again.

    Suarez was carrying him.

Had a good lol at people focussing on Suarez's positive words about him in the Guardian excerpt this week. The idea that Rodgers influenced Suarez in any big way is laughable. Suarez was just so good, born winner and we were so lucky to have him for that period where he went to the top of the footballing world.

I think this will be a lot clearer to see for what it is when Rodgers is finished at Liverpool and on the gradual down slope of his career.

There's no snap to our play, slow movement, passing and thinking.
Shocking again, one good performance this season. Balotelli will get stick, he can do better but gets zero help from the rest of the team and Sterling needs resting.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,901 ✭✭✭Raif Severance

I'm sorry to say, but I don't think we can accommodate Gerrard in the Side anymore.

    Playing him means, it's either:

    A. We don't have a Natural CAM. No Creativity uptop.

    B. No Allen/Can on the Side. We are very Easy to Breakdown. I mean, just look at the Game. We took out Allen, and the Floodgates open.

or C. No Strike Partner for either Balo or Lambert, and we don't look like Scoring.

BR needs to think long and hard about this.

Gerrard isn't the issue. Far more pressing problems tbh.

Problem is , we have Madrid and Chelsea next , can't see it getting any better anytime soon . He hasn't learnt anything since the start of the season.

Playing ONE upfront is nuts .

    I'm really not though.
These Americans have no patience. Never gave Kenny a right chance, and they won't wait much longer for Brendan to turn things around.

I'd take Rafa back right now if I had the chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,887 ✭✭✭✭klose

Makes it all the worse when you see how badly the new signings are doing. Markovic not even on the bench, lallana not even getting a game. Lovren looking the biggest waste of money since caroll.

Rodgers needs to do something ASAP but he will obviously persist with the same players next week.

    Not good enough today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

Fair enough going to a tricky ground and trying to keep it tight.

It just won't work if you give away as stupid a goal as Moreno did. ****ing daft.

Still, if you lose a game because you concede 2 chances then it's your attack that's the problem. Did we create any chances at all in the game?

If you have several goal threats in midfield and pose a threat from direct and indirect set pieces then you can make do without a top goalscorer.

The team that lined out had no goals in it though, from any source.

Coutinho, Sterling and Balotelli never got going because Allen and Henderson didn't allow them to. They were terrible. Especially Allen.

Those two aside I think pretty much everyone played fairly well.
Even Moreno was largely excellent up until those two awful errors that lead to Newcastle's two goals. Hopefully he irons those sorts of mistakes out. He needs to be more decisive when he has to make a challenge in dangerous areas.

Chelsea and Real are going to utterly destroy us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,648 ✭✭✭mav79

What's very frustrating is that Newcastle did not even play very well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,316 ✭✭✭kevohmsford

It would be a great shame to see Rodgers getting sacked. We played some great stuff last year. We would have beaten that Newcastle team handy enough last year.
If we get rid of him who could be possibly bring in.

Remember how smug everyone was about how we took all Southampton's best players?
