Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Team for tonight, Lambert captain.

    Mignolet
    Manquilo Toure Sakho Enrique
    Rossitier Lucas
    Markovic Lallana
    Sterling
    Lambert (c)

    Good opportunity for Rossiter.
Nice for Lambert being captain, wouldn't have reckoned Mig' is suitable and to be fair to Lucas he's not really in our plans I imagine so BR is thinking about this season rather than seasons past, good to see.

Tell you what. I've really missed Enrique

Enrique always reminds me of Jean Reno.

Listening to Arsenal v Soton. Wayama and "Schniderlin" seem to be running the show.

I'm watching it and they haven't been a very slow tempo game neither side controlling it anywhere

Everton could be low on confidence come the weekend if results stay as are.

    Good for us.

    Good for us.

Won't make the slightest bit of difference.

It's the derby, so all form goes out the window.

Mignolet??? Captain? One of the least vocal keepers we've had in years - no way should he be near the captaincy.

You make a fair point, but Lambert is a new signing and has only played a handful of games. But in terms of seniority, in the absence of other captain like qualities, I would have thought Lucas

    ****, borough just scored

And Mig was crap again ffs

Quite an unnecessarily rude way of replying.

Do you really think it's not a valid point that in general it's a good idea not to look too much into the language used in a translated interview, and instead look at the spirit of the message?

Obviously you're in a superior position to most on this one instance, as you aren't dealing with a gap in knowledge - you know the language. I will always err on the side of caution if I can't hear/understand the words coming directly from the person. As soon as it's going through a 3rd party, there's the potential for bias or misinterpretation.

He's pissed off after having been shown the door. Now's he's back in Denmark he lets off a bit of steam. Makes sense.

You were the one being superior by dismissing an interview, simply because it was given in another language. I don't think Agger said anything unusual or out of character. And its not like it was one word in a single sentence, that got deliberately taken out of context.

Everton thumped 3-0 by Swansea, but Liverpool are just ****e right now so it really makes no odds.

I knew this season would be a struggle once Aspas left, but this is ridiculous.

I know its early in his career but Markovic looks nothing exceptional to me, he has the odd flash of brilliance but fades away again. Reminds me of Patrick Berger in looks and playing style. Are Markovic & Sterling the same age?

    I'd sell him tbh.

Hopefully we'll be ahead early enough that he can come off early in the second half. Definitely hope more than expectation though.

Hopefully he'll be full of beans on Saturday morning, sure let's keep floggin him anyway. :(

And Mig was crap again ffs

Migs positioning was not Good, but all of that could have been Avoided had Sakho not been Daydreaming.

Lallana followed the Boro Player all the way, nicked the Ball, then gave it to Sakho easy.

Sakho, who is under no pressure and with plenty of available Liverpool Players, decided to Pass it to the one that's Covered by 2.

Boro got it back and then Sakho got Penalized for the Handball. Then the Rest as they say, was History.

Would we get our money back? Go for it yeah

One of his lauded attributes when joining was pace, not evident tonight. Am happy to bide my time for a while but he aint delivering yet and I'm not convinced he will.

At least we have been much better in the last 10 mins anyhow. Not over yet though of course.

Oops, thought this was the match thread.

Lallana has been Quality. MOTM for me.

Lallana has been excellent tonight. Such a clever player. Will be a big asset to us this season.

    Oh sterling!

    LOAN WATCH mini edition

Ibe - Played full game for Derby in 2-0 win
Assaidi - 87 mins for Stoke in 1-2 away win against Sunderland
Coates - 46 mins for Sunderland in 1-2 defeat against Stoke
Brad Smith - 68 mins for Swindon Town in 1-2 win Johnstone's Paint Trophy

Suso scores who'd have thunk it? That a now very fringe player who is on his way to Milan, maybe as soon as January, is pretty damning really.

    Also, what's with starting sterling?

Started was strange enough but to be on 120minutes is ridiculous.not sure what Rodgers Is at playing him all game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,775 ✭✭✭✭kfallon

Our defenders are all just one big disaster waiting to happen!

You could see that peno coming a mile off

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,901 ✭✭✭Raif Severance

We do like Shooting ourselves in the Foot.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,160 ✭✭✭tok9

Could I get a bit more Suso this season please?

Seriously though what does Markovic do? I thought he was a pacey winger but he didn't really try to beat anyone. Had some nice touches.. an awful lot of passes back and 2 great opportunities to shoot where he decided to pass.

I've no problem giving him time but I'm just a little confused at what I'm watching.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

I think I would've preferred losing this outright than going to extra time, much less penalties.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,056 ✭✭✭SuperTortoise

    Migs to save 3!

That Williams kid impressed since he came on. Good pen as well.

Where did our ability to be clinical go?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Through but you'd have to be worried by how the team is playing. If anything the defence looks worse than it did last season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,594 ✭✭✭kingshankly

Can't understand why they ran to mignolet he was very weak

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,734 ✭✭✭Fowler87

    Craziness. Good pen practice though:pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,761 ✭✭✭Donnielighto

Our two best peno takers weren't even on the pitch lol

Used the squad and made it through.

    Job done:D
