Hi all, not sure if this is the right area,

I would like to build my own "ultimate" blutooth speaker.
I am a furniture maker and want to build it in a nice timber. I have basic experience in electronics.

My idea is to strip down a set of dell pc speakers as they have great sound. So that is the speakers, woofer/bass box, 3.5 jack and I assume amp sorted.
I would like it to also be able to charge from usb, so can someone point me in the direction of the correct module for this?
And why not go mad and put in blutooth and fm radio?
    Would http://www.dx.com/p/lson-bluetooth-v...1#.VADMmMVdWy0 suit?

    Any other ideas? Or comments?

    Thanks

There are no Dell speakers with "great sound".

At least buy a pair of 6" quality drivers.

Use a proper cabinet design or sound can be bad.

Plywood or better MDF, with real veneer is OK. Solid wood cabinets have too many resonances.

This is the wrong place to ask really.

I currently plug my phone into a set of dell speakers with a bass box. Sound quality is perfect for in the kitchen. I know adiophiles wouldnt agree, but they serve a purpose. Plus my thinking is I'm half way there with them, speakers, bass, amp with simple volume controls and 3.5 jack.

Point taken about the wood. I have some nice cherry or walnut veneer mdf to use up.
Can you point to some cabinet designs?

Which section do you think I should move this to? I posted in Electronics too..
