Individual time trial day, exactly what it says on the tin really.

    Startlist

The riders will be climbing from the get go in truth. From approximately 3km in, the riders will be going up 4% for 6km. Towards the top, the gradient kicks up severely, with an average of about 8% and a max of almost 15%. The descent has a number of tight bends to be dealt with, before the riders can settle into the relatively straight-forward 20km to the finish.

    stage10_itt_map.png

The open, exposed route almost loops back on itself, so the riders are likely to face a headwind at some point during the day. Wind is expected to pick up over the course of the day.

Basically all of cycling's best time trialists are here. Tony Martin will of course go in as favourite, but depending on the wind conditions the likes of Fabian Cancellara, Rohan Dennis and Bob Jungels should also feature strongly.

In the GC contenders, Chris Froome, Rigoberto Uran and Alberto Contador should all cope very well. This will certainly be a more difficult day for Quintana, Valverde and Rodriguez who may be looking to limit their losses. Question marks will hang over Aru, Barguil and Sanchez.

Although it's very hard to look past Tony Martin, my outrageous selection for tomorrow is Bob Jungels at 100/1.

    Oddschecker: Tony Martin 4/6, Froome 5/2, Cancellara 11/1, Contador 11/1, Dennis 16/1, Uran 25/1

In case anyone's wondering, tomorrow's stage is the one that's finally pushed me over the edge to make an online betting account. Bob Jungels is 200/1, an each way euro is too good for me to miss.

I am hoping Ronan Dennis will do a good ride...maybe an each way bet ....but I don't bet

Tony all the way I'd say.

    GC Contenders

    Froome
    Contador 15-35 secs
    Valverde 25-45 secs
    Quintana 35-55
    Rodriguez 50- 1.10
    Aru 1.10- 1.30

I agree with you just think Purito will pull something out of the bag here.

I would say Tony Martin. Once he gets over the peak early on it is downhill and we know how fast he goes downhill.

I fancy Contador to put a small amount of time into Froome today and take the red jersey.

What's the weather forecast like for today?

    they/them/theirs

Already gone, came in 5th as it stands! No jackpot for me but it should be a good result for him!

Dan Martin coming down the ramp. Cancellara was very critical of the state of the roads on the descent, Froome will take heed.

Stressful opening with all those bends in the opening of the TT.

Definitely. It just took Sanchez 52 seconds just to get to the road proper.

Strange to see Anacona on a regular bike. Personally I'd prefer to see them have to ride the same bike start to finish, though of course the bike manufacturers wouldn't agree.

is there a dude holding a bike on the back of the motor bike? Doesnt look safe!

Yep! It takes almost a full minute to cycle from the start ramp to the road, where the team car is. If a rider got a puncture or dropped their chain at the start, they'd be absolutely screwed without that motorbike in fairness.

Every time they show Froome he looks on the verge of falling off, correcting himself and so on, but still might put in a big time.

    Quintana down! Looks serious.

EDIT: Bike took the main force actually. Might be ok, but still lost loads of time. Not on yet.
