Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looks like the whole year inn still has to pick a mid 2

Not sure what is happening with him. He should have been picking early yesterday afternoon, was online last night but still no pick.
He has until friday I suppose. Picking the 40th best midfielder may take some thinking!

Still some good picks left, I had a difficult job picking number 38

I've sent Lucas Hood a PM and he seems to be online so hopefully the wait won't be too long. Someone can remind the whole year inn and we'll be game ball

    Ended up with:

    Forster
    ----Cahill---Vlaar
    Mirallas
    Coutinho
    Sturridge

Not too confident about finishing too highly in the table based on that team!!

Team updated for the next 2/3 weeks:

    Forster
    ----Cahill---Vlaar
    Mirallas
    Coutinho
    Sturridge

    Really not looking good now!

Moving league tables to this thread, more apt!

Copper Pipe and Spacecowb0y take the early lead in our FPL draft. Indeed all of the top three were aided by big scores from their Spanish contingents.

Down at the bottom, Mr P is propping up the table, but could he be the Man United of this draft comp..or the QPR? Only time will tell.

A total of 27 players (out of 120) scored 0 or -1 this week....that first transfer window seems a long way off!

    Dear Patrons,

Copper pipe has once again topped our weekly scoring and himself and Roryc have opened up a bit of a slight lead on the chasing pack.
Mr Prodson has hauled himself off the foot of the table to a respectable 13th. Dahat is currently propping the rest of us up.

No fewer than 26 players came in with a 0 or less....special mention to Nuts 102 who got a -2 for Bony.
The average weekly score this week was a mere 15 points....not sure what that tells us though!

Manual man and PARlance will be hoping for better returns after a shocking 6 points apiece this week.

    Until next week folks!

A guy in my private league had 16 points from his whole team, so 15 points is probably not a terrible average!

Hazard and Shurrle combined just as I'd hoped and my North London pair at the back grabbed 2 clean sheets. We're back baby. Positive signs that Eto'o started too and Rangel was 10 minutes from a cleanie. A much better effort than the paltry 5 I got last week anyway

Interim update! LucasHood has wiped the floor with us all this week so far. He got 33 points.
But Copperpipe and Iusedtolikbusts have 24 points and joint second highest scorers.
Copperpipe now has a 10 point lead at the top.

    Dear Patrons,
Copper Pipe has opened up a 12 point gap on the rest of the field. But are there signs that his team is fading? He was outscored by Lucas Hood, Iused2likebusts and Bezuaua this week.
Slingerz gets the Weekly wooden spoon with an impresively low 7 points. And Nuts 102 and One Cold Hand are the Burnley and Newcastle of our league. Suspensions and injuries and lack of form to blame for that. Alan Pardew would be proud of your excuses gents.
The average score this week was just over 17 points. If you got less than that then be worried. No fewer than 25 of our players scored 0 or less. Special mention to Iusedtolikebusts who managed 31 points this week despite Mangala's -2 points.

    Dear Patrons,
It looks like the points feed has been updated early this week....but if you notice any errors please advise!

Copper Pipe's lead has been narrowed down to 11 points, could this be the chink of light the rest of us need? He was outscored this week by most of the chasing pack.
$hifty gets the Weekly wooden spoon with a solid 8 points. He is now within a point of One Cold Hand who apparently has adapted a Paulo Di Canio style of managing his team.
Spacecowboy on the otherhand is this weeks top scorer and has launched a title bid. Is he the man united or the man city of this league?
The average score this week was the same as last week, just over 17 points. If you got less than that then be worried. No fewer than 27 of our players scored 0 or less. The transfer window cant come fast enough.

Our first transfer window is the next international window I think. How do we go about this.

Suggestion: we get 2 transfers each. A random draw is made, same as during the draft, so first out gets 1st and last transfer, and so on. Would that work?

Can't think of a fair way to have just 1 transfer each.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

I'd suggest that whoever had 20th pick for a certain position had first choice for a sub and work things down that way. Most people would probably be happy with their picks and seems the fairest way of doing things?

I am liking this too. We declare the order and the time of transfer window in advance and give everyone..say 2 hours during daytime..to make their picks.
You can transfer in any player who is not in someone else's team.

If anyone has any other proposals please post here....but lets keep it relatively easy to admin and avoid any loopholes that are open to abuse!

Sounds fair. But is it actual SUBS we're gettin in, or is it just transfer out one of our picks for a still-available player?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,318 ✭✭✭✭Menas

Spent 16 hours on airplanes yesterday and some of that time thinking about how to do this transfer window.

    So here it is.
    1) Transfer window opens 10th November, at about 9am, just after I post the Wk11 league table.
    2) Order of picking will start with team in 20th position in the league goes first. Every players gets max two transfers.
    3) When your turn to transfer comes you can choose to transfer out any 2 players in your team. You must replace your transferred out players with any player who is available. Managers can transfer out 2 or just 1 or can choose to 'pass'.
    5) Once the last manager (ie whoever is 1st in the league table) has made his transfers then the window closes. The transfer window will reopen again just after the GW24 league table is published, approx 9 feb.
    6) To keep this moving along when your turn to transfer comes you have 2 hours to make your transfers. The clock only ticks from 9am to 9pm.
    7) To avoid the messing we had last time around, if you miss your turn then tough.
    8) If you know that you will not be available to make your pick then pm your picks to someone who can make your transfers on your behalf.
