Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

this has happened on 2 separate ipad 3's and apple camera connection kits and 2 different 2gb Sandisk Ulta II SD cards - 1 month ago on my own kit and today on my parents kit.

    1. insert sd card into camera connection kit
    2. insert camera connector into ipad 3
    3. photos opens
3a. menu at bottom of screen - photos / albums / import photos
    4. click on import photos
    5. photos are imported.

    perfect, thanks very much.

a couple of hours later and I try with a new batch of photos on the same sd card(s) and I get to stage 3 as above but there is now no import photos button to be clicked and no option anywhere that I can see to import them.

I've just tried a brand new out of the packet 16gb SD card and nothing.

can anyone shed any light on this?

have you tried renaming one of the photos that youre trying to put on the 2nd time in case there is a filename conflict. you can then see if the photo imports.

also check to see if both cards are formatted the same.

no file name conflicts and both cards are FAT formatted. All photos were 2-8mb jpegs.

I think i figured it out - Apple, in their infinite wisdom, have decided that the camera connection kit will only transfer photo's from a memory card that comes direct from a camera.

A card that has photos transferred from a PC will not be recognised - that's why I didn't get the option to import.

(Photos that have had any edits, even if they are added on to a card that did come from a camera and retains the cameras file structure, won't be recognised either).

yet another example of an apple design feature
