It better be. Although knowing the picnic they'll shove him into the little big tent completly underestimating the crowd he is gonna draw. Or worse put him on in electric arena same time as underworld late on saturday night.

One after the other on Saturday would be lovely

Any idea what day Florence + The Machine will be on? Saturday would be perfectly ideal. Was massively impressed by their Glasto performance.

Not usually the biggest fan of Jon Hopkins but his set at Glastonbury looked brilliant. Surely he would be perfect for the Electic Arena, but maybe he would clash with Underworld then. How big is the Electric Arena compared to the Midnight Circus tent at Body & Soul? He had that place wedged last year.

On blur's official website they are listed as doing ep on Saturday the 5th.

Do yis reckon this is the actual date. Now this date has been on their website since the day they were officially added

    Impossible to know I suppose.

Just googled a few other bands and they all have different specific ep dates on their own websites

Anyone know if they are scaling back the Friday like they did for the 10th anniversary? Thinking of going down on Saturday morning because I'm always in giblets on the Sunday.

i'd say they'll have a lot more on the friday this year as they've upped the capacity so much that there has to be enough money to do something decent

It must be about time Christy Moore played EP-him playing on a Friday eve is a great way to start the festival (despite what some here have said in the past)
Would also like to see Steve Mason, New Pornograhers, First Aid Kit and Metric (Unlikely, I know)

I've been hoping for TVOTR for years over here. Them and Sufjan - I tend to miss both whenever they are over here!!

Christy was actually one of the most mental gigs ever at EP. Had to leave…jammed!

Was that in 2012? It was mental when i was in there. Some atmosphere. They couldnt fit anymore in to the tent it was that busy. Was class!!

Yeah 2012 as I was waiting for a mate to come from the Crawdaddy tent, we were going to the Little Big to see Ritchie Hawtin, there was a circle of people outside the Crawdaddy looking at Christy so a big crowd alright.

    i seriously doubt it.
they've upped the capacity for the last few years and not done it.
why would they bother when it will sell out so easily? they can just pocket the profit rather than spend it on extra Friday stuff.

when the ticket prices dropped, Friday was trimmed. i can't see Friday coming back to full schedule until so many cheap tickets are done away with.

This looks fcuking amazing, I canna wait to EP!

excellent, gave this a miss and went to Kanye instead, so hopefully he's not clashing with anyone at EP.

Is Hopkins likely to be the only act in the Electric arena on Friday night? Sort of James Murphy effort?

47,000 is way too many people to have walking around looking for something to do. I should hope that they open electric arena for the full night at least. I can see trouble if they don't, unoccupied bored crowds can get a bit anti social.

It will probably just mean a massive crowd at the main stage. They opened the Electric Arena for a while last year didn't they? For James Murphy I think it was. I'd rather they did have a full scale Friday of course, but it's not as if people have nothing to do. Main stage, Electric Arena, Body & Soul, Casa Bacardi, RBMA will all be open (are Trenchtown or Salty Dog?), I doubt there would be any trouble.

Looks like Jon Hopkins got about half an hour of new material anyway and really nice stuff too, that Two Dancers Wild Beasts remix is a killer track with an amazing crunch, liked the track he played after Open Eye Signal, similar to Collider but really cool bendy bass sounds in it.

The very year! I really felt his political stuff had real bite with the times that were in it!

No BD, haven't seen anything on what day he's performing! Purely speculation. ;)

Have you seen the KEXP-hopkins YouTube video! It's absolutely quality!

what was it last year, 42,000?

there wasn't any festival "headliner" playing the main stage on Friday last year, only Pet Shop Boys, so as long as there's an actual headliner there, or at least someone a bit bigger than PSB, then it should be fine.

i'm not really too concerned about that many people on the Friday if a few tents are closed, it's more the carnage of RBMA, Casa Bacardi, B&S throughout the whole weekend that will be noticeable, not to mention the campsites.

What would be the numbers split between the day tickets and the weekend tickets?
