I've seen Trinity Orchestra every time at EP and at other gigs, they really are fantastic, great new tradition.

And for those that don't know, this year is Sufjan Stevens arrangements... :D

Great way to start the Sunday. I loved their rendition of Daft Punk's 'Discovery' a few years ago.

Trinity Orchestra are usually Saturday afternoon, Dublin Gospel choir have the same afternoon slot on the Sunday

Dublin gospel choir is the best way to start your Sunday. So feel good and really does put you in the form to make the most of the last day...(I'm always emotionally and physically drained at this stage)

My mistake! You are, of course, correct.

Also - Sufjan arrangements? I just lost my ****. I can't freakin' wait.

Insider knowledge-I played the first few ep gigs with them up until dark side of the moon with hozier. What did they do last year at ep? I wasn't at the festival

Gorillaz's "Demon Days". It was good, I'd say very fun to play, a lot of new arrangements and some good hip-hop that they handled well for the most part. Wasn't as good as "Discovery" but maybe I'm just being picky ;)

The year before daft punk they did sigur ros. It didn't quite make it to ep but it was a tasty set none the less. That was the first "pop" gig that they did and it developed from there

The first popular music performance was the year before that with Radiohead in Trinity College I believe. 2009 I think? They've done Arcade Fire and Michael Jackson shows in college gigs as well, while EP has been Gorillaz(2014), n/a 2013, Pink Floyd (2012), Daft Punk (2011 debut)

Something to get ya into the festival mood. Slam Tent at T in the Park 2015 opening on the Friday, from empty tent to packed out tent inside 39 seconds.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Hopefully we get the final announcement after next weekend, with a bit of luck it won't just be

"we sold out, not adding anything else, suckers!"

I guess Slam are very popular in Scotland still. Slam radio is good weekly podcast. They also had a great album out earlier this year (late last year?). There is life in the old dogs yet. Would make a solid addition to EP.

Battles down for the Saturday according to Pitchfork.

EOTR Day Splits are out too so at least we know what days certain acts won't be playing (if that's of any use).

You know something I'm so glad that EP don't book headliners like Avicii, was looking at footage from T in the Park and my god, he is awful and such bloody niggly music, most of us would be hiding in the Body & Soul Village if he was on.

different genres and different market I suppose. While I agree with you 100% there is a large group of young people with money who like that tripe.

Younger nieces when to see that clown in Marley Park last week. Even she with her limited knowledge of dance music though he was crap!

Ride have said in an email (and on their website) that they are playing Friday, but I suppose we don't know if they are just defaulting to this or if that is the actual day.

I seen one half of Slam DJing at Witnness in 2000. He was listed as 'Orde Meikle (Slam DJ set)'. I was a doe-eyed 16 year old. I'd never heard techno before. It pretty much changed my life as far as music is concerned. I was so innocent that I thought 'Slam DJ set' referred to a type of music. When I got home on Monday my mates were pressing me about what the music was like at it. I said I caught a few good bands, but my favourite music of the weekend was 'the slam'. :o

Tame Impala on Sunday, lovely stuff!! Can't wait to see them. Curious as to when and where they'll play. Coachella had them in a fairly significant spot, but I don't think they're as well known in Ireland?

What are the chances of another batch of tickets released with the next announcement? Given the license application approval in waiting too, if that goes ahead surely there's room for more tickets?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,967 ✭✭✭Synode

As someone posted previously, they tend to release a very small amount of tickets just before the event. You'd have to be checking Ticketmaster every day and get lucky
