Most of the time it is.
You do get reports of some undesirables about, but to be honest, it's not that often that I've met any.
Generally the people are sound and have a decent grasp of music and how to enjoy themselves. Isn't that all you need

Some one else mentioned here that they are FM104 listeners or something similar, that's pretty much bang on the money. None of these ****ers have even put skin in the game in terms of buying a ticket yet, they just want a poke and a whinge in public.

**** em and the horses they rode in on.
i disagree, i think there's a sizable amount of the crowd these days who have little interest in the music and probably had never even heard of Portishead, Beck, St.Vincent etc
i'm sure loads of the people whinging on the fb page today will still go because it's a piss-up in a field and all their mates are going, just like they did last year.
of course, there's loads who probably aren't whinging and still think it's ****e but still go as hanging around the Casa Bacardi all weekend taking selfies is more important than whatever weird music they've never heard of is on at the different stages.

There is more of that element to the crowd since Oxegen died, but overall the crowd is still pretty decent.

What i didn't like from last year was Glastonbury style giant flag waving dickheads.

I wish some of the djs at casa bacardi were in other arenas.

The Casa Bacardi has become something of a magnet for those types in truth.
Quite a few people seem to stay there all weekend.
But that's grand as long as the crowd elsewhere is spot on and the Casa Bacardi is a very small part of it all so they can have it!

The Heineken area was like that too.
Was a fairly impressive arena they had last year with the basketball courts etc

I think I've only been in there once for any length of time, two years ago.
Just one of those areas that never seems to be on the radar... maybe it's for the best if it's as you say.

It was great to go in there actually, bar was never full and always did some intermittent boogieing when I was in there refuelling

Em is using the word boogie a sign I'm too old for EP I wonder :)

Looks like FATM are only doing 1 UK festival this year and it wont be Reading/Leeds or Lattitude. Could see her being the final headliner for Bestival

I spent a lot of the weekend down there, of all the stages it probably had the most acts I wanted to see last year; Dimitri from Paris, Greg Wilson, Get Down Edits, The 2 Bears etc. Even in previous years they have had great DJs down there such as Todd Terje, Prins Thomas, Crazy P, Aeroplane, Jacques Renault & Hercules & Love Affair. This year I'd imagine it's likely to be the same again, it can be a bit of a 'poser' area where people are a bit more concerned about their appearance or socialising rather than the music but I don't think it deserves to be looked down on. Definitely one of my favourite areas of the festival.

Don't get me wrong, there is no way I'd look down on it from the acts point of view.
It usually has a class lineup.
I've seen Greg Wilson twice, Felix Da Housecat, Aeroplane etc down there in recent years.
I just think that going to EP and spending all your time down there is a bit weird. It's a site that needs to be explored.
Last year on the Sunday night I found a bar I'd never seen before, in behind a fairly hidden entrance beside a tree between the Main Stage Area and the Mindfield. **
    Love finding stuff like that

** This is my best guess of where I think it was and could well be wrong!

Someone said earlier that Bestival are waiting for there last headliner too and it might be the same for ep, what act is it?

I think there could be well be a few fairly big names still to be announced.
    Half a dozen or so.

Was hoping for Public Service Broadcasting on today's announcement as well so hoping they get added later.
I reckon they'd go down a storm in the EA

Tentative as to whether I'll get this year or not. But a lineup with Jon Hopkins, TWOD, Low, Battles, MMJ, Metz, Girl Band, Future Islands, B&S, J5, Ride, Hot Chip and Underworld get's a serious thumbs up. It's almost Primavera-esque.

Never listen to Space Shanty either, he's generally too busy schmoozing to pay attention to who's playing. ;)

Happy enough with that as a first announcement. I don't rate Florence and the Machine at all and while I like Manics I wouldn't be pushed seeing them. Will need to go have a proper listen to Underworld I've somehow never listened to them properly.

Very very impressed with the lower bill.TWOD, Belle and Sebastian, Tame Impala, Future Islands, Ride, MMJ, Django Django and Pond will be great. Kwabs, Wyvern Lingo, Girl Band, and Curtis Harding are pretty much guaranteed a big 2015. Metz are incredibly loud and noisy so it'll be interesting to see what they are like live.

Would like some rap added to it but FF and Longitude have all the larger acts. All in all festival season in Ireland is looking pretty freaking strong!

Really looking fwd to seeing Future Islands. Saw them last year on Jools Holland and didn't know what to think. Lead singer gets very animated and has mad dance moves! The album is actually very decent.

U2 have a space in their schedule on the Sunday........;) :pac:

    Garth Brooks too

For some insane reason he reminds me of Morrissey.

They really have got some excellent acts this year.

What time is the actual launch at the Chocolate Factory, do you think there might be more names added, happy with some of the line up alright, I would prefer Bat for Lashes over Florence myself and have seen Underworld a few times now. I'll be working it of course, so glad Jon Hopkins is booked, still hoping for Aphex Twin, I bet you if he gets announced he will be put on clashing with Hopkins leaving a dilemma for electronica nuts, would probably go for the Twin though as I've seen Hopkins twice now at B&S festival.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Not a chance of Aphex Twin, as we tell you every year. It's like the people that guess Daft Punk every year.

Not too impressed but bearing in mind the calibre of acts around Europe (aside from Primavera) it's as good as we'll get. I honestly think Future Islands and Jon Hopkins are the best acts there, and the third billing is stealing the show. Very little interest in FATM, was hoping for Royal Blood as a bit of a rock change but no dice. If Ride get the same crowd as Slowdive last year we can expect about 200 people at most.

Was at festival in Paris last year & they were my favourite act. Put on a great show. Album was one of my favourites of last year too. Looking forward to seeing them again.

Reminds me of Joe Dolan. This video is very well done.
