I get the lyrics to some songs completely wrong. For years I thought that Bob Marlays "Jammin'" was "Johnny, Johnny, I hope you like Johnny too"!

Just heard 'The Smiths' with the lyrics in one of their songs (?) "Hang the DJ, hang the DJ" but today I guess it could be "Im the DJ, Im the DJ". Anyone else out there as bad as me....??!!

It's actually supposed to be "No Woman Nuh Cry"
"Nuh" being a Jamaican phrase meaning "Don't"
So the song is telling a woman that living a life in the ghetto will get better
"No Woman Don't Cry"...

I used to think Bob Marley was singing "my fear is my only courage" in No Woman No Cry. I was disappointed to learn it was "my feet is my only carriage". I liked my line better.

I always thought the chorus to Smashing Pumpkin's 'Bullet with Butterfly Wings' was, instead of "Despite all my rage, I'm still just a rat in a cage,

I thought it was: Despite all my rage, I am still just ready to cage (thought it was a metaphor for falling to pieces emotionally )

I posted this on facebook in a comment once to a friend and she had to correct me once and for all.

Someone please tell me that I misheard that Irish hit(?). That had the lyrics 'wheres my jumper' dancin' in the disco etc etc and that the actual lyrics were more meaningful?! Fond memories !!
