I don't particularly fancy dragging my 2 KG Canon 450D and spare lens around in 30degrees on Holidays just for the occasional shot. (I haven't used my camera in over 6 months - completely lost interest). My iPhone can do that. However, Ive been considering getting a compact size camera that will do similar to the above kit.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thanks.

EDIT: Not the Go-Pro and Ive no interest in taking videos.

I bought a canon sx260 for the same reason. I find it great, but its not cheap.:)

What about a Canon G10 second-hand? It shoots RAW, has exposure compensation and is quite tough.

    Thanks!!!

That does look good!!! Exactly what I want….hmmmm could trade my 450 D against cost (was looking to trade anyhow, but no point getting something I won't use like a 5D - too bulky for the little I'd use it!!).

I love the aqua colour too:D

Panasonic GM1 and the Olympus zx2 might be worth a look.

    Too many choices!!

    Canon SX600
    Nikon Coolpix S9600

These are the two contenders at the moment. Im not forking out more money as I may as well buy another DSLR then:p

What do ye think?? Although I have a Canon DSLR, I'm leaning towards the Nikon compact…..
