Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

For all the ball Ireland have had, the only move of note was the goal which was well worked.

Fear and frustration setting in now and there are more hopeful punts than wanting to hold onto the ball.

I think changes need to be made, there does not seem to be any understanding between Ward and McGeady and Coleman and Walters.

Keane is isolated and lacks pace, the Georgian defence have the measure of him.

So, he wouldn't have saved it but would have been better positioned to watch it go in?

Forde isnt to blame for the goal.

He's not in goal so how are we suppose to know he would have saved it? We can go on experience that Given has better positional sense and he would not have left his near post unguarded, Their is a reason the likes of Forde plays in the lower leagues

Same auls sh1** from Ireland. Too slow and when we do score we can't hold on to the lead. This lot were there for the taking but we sat back and allowed them back into it.

Coleman needs to learn to play in a new position for Ireland - attacking mid perhaps. Take Alaba for example, a LB at club level and Austria's biggest attacking threat in CM at national level. Coleman is our best player by a mile and he is being wasted somewhat at RB. It's not good when one of your biggest attacking threats doesnt get the opportunity to attack half enough as he should.

A bit of a crazy idea but we need to do something to come up with some creativity and attacking threat. On that note - Hoolahan needs to be brought on.

We're creating very little up front, bring Wes on

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Paddy Kenny would have saved that with a burger in his hand.

    Runs for cover

Well at least Forde is getting a game at all. Given looked past it as far back as the euros. The spring is gone in the legs and he wouldn't have got near it either.

So you'd prefer a non-playing goalie with leaden legs? Brilliant.

We need to come out and put these to the sword no messing.

Hopefully Keane is giving them a roasting.

Yep much better than a nobody from millwall

I said it at the start, Wes has to play. We are creating nothing as usual and the defense is all over the shop. I'm worried we will lose this match. Very poor so far.

We need to stop hoofing it forward so much.

Don't worry we'll win this at a canter.

Don't be ridiculous. It's impossible to say that from the movement on that ball..

Apart from it dipping there was **** all movement on it. Keeper was beaten on his near post, he didnt even put his hand out.

Looks like Hans Klopek from The 'Burbs.

Bring Long on and cause them a few problems with his pace.

New keeper on, bloody test him lads.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,740 ✭✭✭✭MD1990

Keane can't play up front on his own. Too slow & weak. Either play Long up with him,Hoolahan off him, or drop him for Long.

Time for the test this rookie keeper lines. . .

    Well done Ronnie!

John O'Shea. Why? He is so poor.
Surely the likes of Shane Duffy will get into that team once he gets a few games at his new club.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,304 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

That yellow was a terrible decision.

Ireland seem to want to play the opposite to every other team on the planet - keep giving away the ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,673 ✭✭✭AllGunsBlazing

Quinn our best player so far?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,722 ✭✭✭nice_guy80

Great commentating from Whelan - game is there to be won.
    What, like every game Ronnie?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,026 ✭✭✭duffman13

Wish Wilson would stop trying the Hollywood pass. Keane looks very leggy, get Long on. Would agree Quinn has been one of our best players all the more now cause Ronnie Whelan wants him off.

Our plan of isolating Robbie Keane as much as possible is working very well

This is where all the hate comes for Robbie Keane. He is asked to play a role he can no longer play and is isolated from the game. He will play the whole 90 and no changes will be made.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

Lino has been happy to give Georgia the calls

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,984 ✭✭✭Soups123

The linesman has been awful on that side

Whelan is like a statue. Get him off.

Was going to say, from what I saw of O'Neill at Sunderland, he was not too fond of making changes until late late on.

Not his fault but can't think of anyone less suited to be a lone striker than Robbie Keane. No pace and no physical presence. Even in his prime it didn't suit him.

But if at some point we can squese
e a ball through to him and he skirts it him the nib haters will point to his ever increasing goal record and say that's why the boy from tallaght is a legend

A role more suited to a work horse forward. Long or Doyle would both be better equipped for the job.

This is gash. Keane and O'Neill are hopeless out of their depth at this level. They need to go and we need to get a decent manager with international experience in.

Coleman seriously being nullified by our own players. Walters drifting away from him all the time, he is in the centre more often than not.

The shape of the whole team is shocking.
