Hey just wondering if there is a clothes bank around the D4/D6 area?

Also how exactly do they work? Will they take old clothes with holes/bleach stains...as in do they recycle the clothing or will they just take clothes that are standard to be resold in charity shops?

Am I imagining that there are clothes banks are like bottle banks as it just sit outside in car parks and you can go whenever or are they manned stations in charity shops...

    Ant help appreciated!

There's one in the car park of Tesco Rathmines, beside the bottle banks. It's just a big yoke, very similar to a bottle bank, just throw bags of clothes in. They must be bagged.

Stuff that's saleable anywhere is sold as is - either here or shipped off to third world countries with lower standards, stuff that isn't usually gets sold as rags to various trades (mechanical, painters sometimes, etc); anything that's below that even goes for textile recycling - depending on what it is; the fibres can be reused quite extensively.

Cheers for the responses, meandered over to Rathmines and found the one in the Tesco carpark earlier :)

There's also one on Sandymount Rd that I've tried to drop 3 bags full 3 times over the last 2 weeks and everytime it's been overflowing with clothes. Saw a nice pikey stealing clothes out of it too on one occasion, screamed at him and he completely ignored it. Total p rick
