Was there today and there was lots of interest. Seemed very popular going by people's reactions to the different houses and rooms.

Seems pretty poor demand if they were not all sold out on the first day, only 60 odd houses, no new housing built in Swords since 2007/2008. If all the gazumping from private sales and massive demand was to believed 60 odd houses which appear to be high spec that are sold at a fixed price and had coverage in the media all week should be sold out in 24 hours.

If the houses cost €280k, and assuming banks require a 10% deposit and lend 4x your salary, it means people buying the houses would require an income of €63k, which I reckon is considerably higher than the average wage in swords.

About the 4x salary rule, I've often heard it's 4x the breadwinner's salary plus the lower salary. Not sure if that's true, but either way, I think a lot of people would struggle to get a mortgage for that amount.
