    Hi guys, not sure if this us somewhere you can help or not.
    I bought the BenQ W1070 from you over a year ago, love it, but would like to update the firmware, is this something I can do myself? Or is it recommended to send it to someone?

    Hi Stop,

    Thanks for getting in touch.  Glad to hear you're enjoying the 1070 :)

    I've had a look around and there isn't a simple answer, hardly any info on the Ben Q website regarding firmware updates.

    I did find the following thread tho:
    http://www.hifivision.com/home-theatre-projectors-screens/49217-benq-w1070-w1250-w1080st-firmware-discussions.html

    Being from the start of the year it might be a bit out of date though.

    Best bet would probably be to contact Ben Q directly.

    Chris

    There are various threads online regarding updating the W1070 firmware - NONE OF THEM OFFICIAL BENQ sites!

    I would be really cautious unless you are completely confident that you know what you are doing, you know what the issue is and you know what you want to achieve!

    If an unofficial firmware upgrade 'bricks' most manufacturers are liable to refuse to honour any remaining warranty and in certain instances even refuse to service an out of warranty unit.

    ///Go steady :/

    Keep us posted,
