Weighed some calves and the effect that the pneumonia on the effected ones was big.
Best one down from 1.55kg/day down to just over 1kg/day. A few others dropped from lower initial values.
All heading in right direction now thankfully.

    Were they Vaccinated against Pnuemonia?

No we ****ed up this year and didn't do the first batch that went in. The other ones that went in later were done.
A hard lesson shown in black and white. Stupid mistake, we do it every other year.

Every time you put up a photo, I'm always trying to figure whats in the background. Is that Galway?

Ya, looking out across Galway Bay over to connemara. If you look towards the left you can make out the 12 Ben's and you can see the wind turbines in connemara aswell. On a fine day in summer you'd swear it was only a few miles away. If I turned around the other way on a really fine day you can see all the way down to Mount Brandon in Kerry too.

Does anyone here use rubber mats on their calf lie back areas?
What ones are you using and how is it working out?

No, lying on slats. Just out there for 10 minutes to eat a bit of meal. Thats saw dust/shavings on the ground

Had a few here from him. He throws great calves and they all seem to have that grey tinge to them from the limos.

Fine bit of ground. Over 30,000 acres.

I was surprised that there isn't many farm buildings for such acreage.
