    I really like that heifer.

    PB heifer and bull.

She's a beaut patsy, real natural muscle to her. She should breed serious bulls.
When's she calving? What weight would she be?

Thanks, she's lovely and quiet too. Calving late April. About 520Kg now.
Just a little worried that's she's so muscley and ZAG is muscley too.

Heifer is by Sympa. 5 stars for both maternal and terminal within breed.
Bull is by Ardlea Dan. 4 stars replacement, 5 stars terminal within breed.

I've a PB Lim Heifer ready for bulling (I've two in total!)
Can I use your expertise to recommend a straw for her?

I've only 4 myself so hardly an expert. What I tend to do is pick a bull that corrects whatever the heifer/cow is lacking in. Say a heifer has a poor docility figure then pick a bull that is very quiet. Fieldson Alfy for example has one of highest docility scores in the breed. If you go to the society sales you'll get a feel for how the different bulls are breeding too.
With a heifer deffo pick an easy calving bull.

PG had a limited supply of Kaprico Eravelle straws recently. He'd be ideal for a pedigree heifer if you can get them.

Used Kaprico Eravelle on the pedigree heifers this year can be got from Dessie Dunleavy at world wide sires.

Few photos from today. Took a trip down to Dunbrody Abbey.

Lovely part of the country and great pics of it!

It's a different world up here in the NW that's for sure. Just saw the BBC weather forecast...not a pretty picture for the end of this week.

That might work, she is out of an FL21 cow and by Castleview Gringo herself.
She's 5* across the board. Her brother is our bull and he's out of WTZ, an absolute cracker bringing topping calves.

It is Dunbrody Abbey, near Campile in co.Wexford. It was founded by the Cistercians in the 1200's. They picked their site well good land and good access to the sea.

    Real nice calf.
I'm a big fan of that type of cow. They cross well with all breeds.

We had a chinese delegation on our farm last year and their guide described one of the delegates enterprise as being like larry goodmans multiplied by ten.
Sure we're only hobby farming here

Fairly on the ball, she's €70 replacement, so just under 4 star. I think she was 4/5 star terminal, they don't show it for females any more.
Was going to get rid of her this year as she has a dodgy joint in her back leg but am going to put her on mats and see if that alleviates the issue.

Well she's no spring chicken at 10yrs old, had a blue off her last year, this guy here- http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=99530469&postcount=663
Had a few nice hairy charolais calves before that, PIO, TZA. She also had some super red blue calves off SFL but he's gone now.
