or perhaps that is, like, her real accent? Being as she is from the liberties and that is the prevalent accent in the area?

Exaggerated in my opinion to play up an image.

If by that you mean she's not saying Jaysus every second word then maybe:pac:

Last week we had Jools Holland on Later With Imelda The Imelda May Show,

Tomorrow on TG4 at 11.45pm you can see a 2008 edition of Later with Jools ... featuring Imelda May

Some cheeky scheduling by TG4 there, I think!

I think The Script are on this week

    yep ...

The singer-songwriter is joined in the studio by pop-rock band the Script, rock group Aslan, singer Derek Ryan and pop-folk duo Hudson Taylor for chat and live performances

she only says jaysus every third word now. She's gone all posh and got ideas about herself.

There is an extra show on tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

Just watching the end of the repeat. You'd think that Imelda, Mary Black and yer man would have learnt the lyrics of "Enjoy Yourself" without having them on a sheet in front of them. They're getting paid enough for it.

Just caught a few minutes of this show and then watched the Riptide Movements video of All works out on youtube.

Very smart vid, I hadn't seen it before.

Is it on? Can't find it on the player.

Or has Jools Holland taken 'cease-and-desist' legal action? :pac:

Christy Dignam looks very well being out of remission. Hats off to him.

It's always a huge relief to see Christy Dignam on television, looking (reasonably) ok, considering everything he's been through.

Here is that Aslan Tribute Concert, RTE should buy it and stick it on some night

    I really like Imelda....

She could have left Mary Black out though...

I hope it doesn't turn into another RTE love-fest regular's program....

The Script are singing Superheroes once again from only 2 days ago from Friday's Late Late.

I thought they would be singing something different for tonight's show. At least it is better than Friday's performance.

I'd like to see people like Dolores Keane, Mary Coughlan (not the ex-Tanaiste) and Sinead O'Connor on the show. Maybe even Shane MacGowan, if he's somehow not too wasted. The Script do nothing for me.

Also, Lisa Hannigan would be great, but that's only because I have a mild obsession with her.

I like Imelda too. She's very down to earth.

Liking the show so far. Aslan was good and your man spoke his mind about Louis Walsh which had me laughing.

I liked the Script's performance and new song.

I'm looking forward to see Derek Ryan.

You could probably leave out the last four words of that sentence and it wouldn't change the meaning of what you wanted to say :)

I love Shane MacGowan, especially when he's wasted.

I've never seen him not wasted. When he's too far gone though (vomiting on stage and unable even to slur the words of his own songs), it's no fun.

Is this going to be the same interview?

Danny's false modesty is a bit much.

He's a country and irish singer. He's a bit like Michael Buble but instead of jazzy tunes like what Buble does, he's doing country music and reviving irish country music and doing a great job of it too. I like him anyways.

    Derek Ryan from Co.Carlow

He used to be in D-Side, then he realised there was money in Country Music

    Me, me, me.....

Imelda just quoted the man who interviewed the turtle from "The Golden Child"....

    No, I'm not drunk.

    Strangely enough.

It's better when you just let it go ten thousand feet over your head...

    Much less stressful.....

It needs some new act to come on and blow everyone away, it's a bit too much of the old guard.

Mary Black was once a great singer, not anymore :(

The Strypes would be great for the show. They're Irish, they're somewhat famous and they're class.

The Beatles called. They want their song back.
