Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Quite astonishing really. Amazing also that Kilkenny racked up 3-22, only 8 points short of what they racked up against Waterford when they trimmed them in 2008.

I live right on the Tipp/Kilkenny border needless to say what all the talk is about today. A game that will go down in infamy.

Interesting times we live in indeed.

28 points is the second highest tally of points behind Kilkenny in 2008 when they scored 3-30 v Waterford, but the accounulated tally of 54 scores is the largest ever scores in an All-Irealnd

Kilkenny scored 4-18(30) in the 2005 semi final and still lost.

That was an epic game from what i recall. I hadnt realised that they clocked up that? Its some scoring not to win a game. And the consensus was Kilkenny were gone after that defeat....how wrong they were :pac:

    Last year's replay (5-16 to 3-16) and 1990 (5-15 to 2-21 - grrrrr!) also very high scoring.

Kilkenny lost the 1971 All Ireland final while scoring 29 points.
    Tipperary 5.17 Kilkenny 5.14.
This was an 80 minute final.
The aggregate was still 1 point less than last Sunday's game.

when you look at just how good the recent finals have been (2 of them ranked up with the greatest ever) and even in the football weve perhaps had 2 of the best ever games played (Kerry v Dublin and Kerry V Mayo) it makes you sit back and just admire the level these guys are playing at right now.

    This year alone:

    Galway 5-16 Kilkenny 3-22
    Clare 2-25 Wexford 2-25(aet)

Some fantastic close games this year: Kilkenny-Galway, Clare-Wexford, Waterford-Cork not to mention Sunday.
