Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Scoring v Saving

Just wondering what everyone thinks is... well, better regarded, scoring a goal or saving a shot.

Personally I have high regards for a goalie that can make a save. There are countless players who can score goals but not many keepers who can keep clean sheets.

Biased as a forward but scoring a goal for me - it's a difficult skill to get direction, accuracy, power when kicking from the hand on the move - most times with a defender closing down / trying to put you off, not to mention the goals are small :)

Depends on the situation really, I played as a keeper for a few years and shot stopping was probably the easiest part of the game. I was far more concerned with catching a dropping ball under pressure and getting the kick outs right.

Only played as a forward one year, again I didn't find scoring to be the difficult part (not that I scored that much!), it was trying to manufacture a situation where I put myself in a position to score. And on the rare occasions I found myself in a goalscoring position I tended to take my point as placing a shot past a keeper wasn't a major strength of mine.

In a one on one situation, the pressure is on the forward. I loved one on one's as a keeper but hated them as a forward.
