Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Test
Tonga 20-23 Georgia

U20 World Cup
Georgia 18-17 Italy

Georgia is currently unbeaten from their Pacific Islands tour. Next game on saturday against Fiji.

In the U20 World Cup, Georgia won over Italy, scoring 3 tries to 2.
The score would have been far stronger, Georgia missed 12 kickables points + one unallowed try.
Italy scored a last second converted try to be back to 1 point but Georgia's victory was already act.

That's mean Georgia is officially in the U20 Top10 for the first time in their history and will fight for the 9th spot against France.
Italy still never finished top 10 at JWC and will play relegation decider for the 5th time in a row.

I see lobzhanidze is off to brive next season.

He's a class player and hopefully you can build a decent team around him in the coming years.

Thanks for all the updates croket, it's always good to hear how teams are progressing

Great stuff.

I think you said it on the U20s thread but there has to be a strong argument to get Georgia in the U20s Six Nations now.

Good to see the seniors getting good results.

there would be an argument for them to be playing Italy for the full 6 Nations , I believe they are now ahead of Italy on world rankings, certainly if they beat Fiji

They are already ahead of Italy on world rankings ;)

Some comments about recent results of Georgia :

Dannie De Villiers (former coach of Boland Cavaliers, Pumas, Tunisia national team, Rugby Roma, Timisoara and Bucharest)
Tier 2 teams that I think would have the biggest impact on the game going forward are Georgia and the USA. Georgia has invested a lot of money in their rugby, but it was intelligent investment. Their National Junior teams are performing very well which means the development been done on grassroots level was seen as vital to ensure that rugby at the top level will stay strong and competitive for years to come. They have an incredible coaching staff and a lot of very good players are coming through their system. They have also established a rugby culture in Georgia. Going to Tbilisi for a test match you can expect 50000 crazy fans to show up to support their team.

Andrew Evans (Canada's Strength & Conditioning Coach)
No surprise - at 2011 Junior World Rugby Trophy I saw the start of Georgia's development infrastructure and in 5 years have skyrocketed.
