Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone know of a way to get Apple Switzerland to deliver to Ireland? Something like Parcel Motel. Prices for the new iPhone work out at €629 a €70 saving

Cant be done on any Apple site. The minute you go to enter the payment screen it reverts to your home country. you would need somebody over there to order for you. It was the same when it was cheaper in Italy years ago.

Well that's not true anymore as people have been successful in ordering from the UK. Furthermore Apple actually advises that if you are buying a gift for someone to do so in the online store of the country in which they live.

Well it is true as the only reason you can buy from the UK store is because you are getting it delivered to a UK address.

Furthermore, i advise you to try buy from the switzerland store now, go try buy a set of earphones and have them delivered to IRL ;)

exactly, you have answered your own question.

My question was asking if there is any Parcel Motel alternative for European Shopping though.

Actually you'll find that they're cheaper than that if you shop around.

A lot of consumer products and electronics are actually cheaper in Switzerland largely because of the much lower VAT rate (8%). However, Switzerland is not in the EU, which means that duty and other taxes are due when crossing over the border, in either direction.

This means that in many cases, companies will not deliver to the EU. Where they do, they will do everything by the book and mark the package as being subject to duty. And if by chance, you find one that will deliver to the EU and doesn't do things by the book, you're taking your chances that your package won't get spotted and you get a note from the post office to pick up your package and pay the duty (plus fine).

Your best bet is to know someone in Switzerland who could buy and bring it over when they visit Ireland, or lives close enough to the border that they can post it from a neighboring EU country.
