Smartphone OS marketshare in Ireland

As per title, has anyone seen any figures for this within the last 6 months? The last info I can find is from an Expansys written article a few years ago and it's obviously really out of date. I'm curious to see how WP is doing in Ireland given that it is generally doing a lot better in European markets than in the US. Also I want to have some data to nag Hailo to build a WP app!

Thanks for that - I'm not sure I trust it however, given it still has iOS leading over Android in the US! I suspect it uses some measuring system that favours iOS somehow. Doesn't seem to line up with http://www.kantarworldpanel.com/global/smartphone-os-market-share/ for example

It's based on web stats. iPhone is skewed higher because iPhone users tend to be more engaged with their devices. With Windows Phone and Android, because a lot of these devices are in the lower end, many devices only end up getting used as glorified feature phones. For now, iPhone is still to be the first port of call for the latest apps. Android is catching, but is still a bit off but is not in a position to be ignored.

Oh, one more thing, have you told the makers of Hailo to contact Microsoft and see will Microsoft pay the costs of development?

I don't know if it's a US only thing, but Microsoft were apple to get a lot of the holes filled in their app store by paying the developer directly - http://www.theverge.com/2013/6/15/4433082/microsoft-paying-companies-100k-windows-phone-apps

Yeah, I've seen that happen a few times, the only problem with it is that once the app is built it rarely gets updated, whereas the devs who seek out the OS by themselves seem to make more of a commitment to it. It'd be nice if Hailo just went as far as a mobile website, similar to how Uber have https://m.uber.com/ - that way they're at least not having to spin up a whole new development team for a new platform.

ACTUALLY I didn't realise that Hailo had an API now: http://techcrunch.com/2014/08/20/hailo-api/

It'd be nice if some enterprising young developer built us a WP client :)

Edit: nevermind, looks like it requires an actual Hailo app to do the booking step :(

... I wouldn't trust a 3rd party version of an app that has to take credit card details, etc (or banking apps!)
