Same here, prefer the 2d, gives a much better view of how your formation is actually working, then have replays of goals in 3d but on low quality.

I do the same. You wouldn't believe how crap my laptop is. The 3d works like a dream all the same. I was using 3d instead of 2d at first, just because I could.

Game is painfully slow processing though. Doing my first proper pc build in next week or so, so not for long hopefully.

That's the Brazilian hero achievement accomplished.I'm gonna stay at the save for another while though.

When I was chatting to some of those Brazilian lads that were at GUFC they were trying to explain the Brazilian league to me. I didn't get it. Played it for a while on FM. Had a good season with a crap club. Got sacked due to wages being a tiny bit over budget. Couldn't sell or loan anyone. Had no choice. I've despised all Brazilians since!

Yeah it's all confusing. It's broken in to three parts or something!

Just got promotion with Notts Forest and am bombarded by offers for Jack Hobbs and Henri Lansbury who've progressed hugely. Before considering selling up I realised that the % of transfer sales is extremely low and the board won't budge. Is this the case with most clubs?

I've had that quite a bit in my United saving. During the first season, it was only 10%. Got it up to 40% for season two, but still makes it harder to do the mass changes I love doing :P

Yeah it's frustrating because I remember in the last games building my best squads through big sales of current players (Tom Ince for £25M-Lol). Probably more realistic though to have it this way.

Yeah, my United one got cut twice in the one season I've done

    25m?
    I can offer 20m?
    22m?
    FINE! 22m.
    82m?
    WTF?
    89m?

Do you guys tend to rotate formation between home/away games and weaker/stronger teams?

Just trying to decide if I should stick to the same formation regardless of the oppositon?

I always have a standard formation I basically stick too - and base by squad balance and purchases around - but also a secondary more defensive and conservative formation that I switch to in big games, especially away. the second formation usually means dropping one or two stars, but oh well. I generally have a balls out third formation too, but it doesn't really get used much, maybe only in last few minutes when pushing for a goal.

I'd be almost identical, my second formation is normally counter-attacking and is normally just one position change from my main formation (AMC > DMC) and then change some roles around.

Cheers lads - will give this a bash later - generally play 4-3-3 with 2 advanced wingers regardless of the opposition but will probably bring them deeper into a 4-5-1 during the tougher games - sound like a plan?

I usually go counter away from home, and if i'm leading at home I change to counter/control for the last 20 minutes. Drop defence deeper and maybe bring the wingers back and tell the team to tighten up. I stopped conceding late on doing this, I was throwing away 2 goal leads the whole time.

Drop deeper works a treat when defending a lead, opposition usually resort to long ball when chasing a late goal and dropping deep defends against long ball easily.

Anyone else's squad getting constantly ravaged by injuries? Just as I managed to get everyone back to match fitness the next two games had six mid-long term injuries to my first team, right back to square one.

I am playing as Man Utd though, is there some realism setting I can turn off?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

You playing as United and only 6 injuries? You are doing well my friend

Have gone back to back promotions with Carlisle now and the championship season has started well , first 6 games and were in the play off places.

Had to really scrap to keep hold of my front 3 in the off season though, Somehow I got a miracle wonderkid when we were down in League 2, 16 years old Aaron Hooley , from Carlisle and all. He got into the team very quickly because he was already better than what I had and he absolutely smashed League 1 up last season with 37 goals and 18 assists. I feared I'd loose him with Barcelona , Chelsea , Madrid all sniffing around him. Thankfully I convinced him to stay for now and the board didn't force a sale either.

'Real Madrid would like to offer 30 million , a pair of Ronaldo's underwear , 20 packs of Tayto and their loyalty forever for Aaron Hooley'

'Dear Real Madrid , thank you for your offer...please **** off and never contact me or Aaron again'

He's my ticket to the premiership , no doubt loose him after this season though. Mention to Craig Davies as well, signed him on a free think he was my first signing , great goal scorer in the lower divisions and has been scoring in the championship as well even at 32 he's been great for me.

I need to get out of the mentality of occasionally quitting when I go behind or not saving after a loss and re-loading

Anyone else guilty of this? I think we've all done it :)

Yep, I've done it before. Mainly when I was trying to test out different tactics and see what works best in each version of the game.

Eventually you start to settle on your playing style in each game , I think I actually tampered a little too much early on, going behind and straight away I'd start making changes, last season when we fell behind I gave it 20 minutes without changing anything , let the lads get on with it and more often than not we would get back into the game or even in front. Players with high mental stats are more useful in the lower leagues.

Almost forgot , knocked Blackburn out of the FA Cup last season , was delighted , they then offered me my job back and told them to stick it (Funny how you harvest resentment even in the game)

As Henry Cellars sais , 'Sack me??? Sack me???!!!'

Thats EXACTLY when I do it to be honest.

Still trying to find the balance between my attacking home formation and a more conservative away playing style but finding it hard to juggle the 2 while actually retiaing any sort of attacking threat away from home :-/

Decided to start a game with Fulham last night, decent financials & facilities and plenty of youth. The squad has an odd balance too, loads under 22 and then a good few over 29.

Trying to bring in some short term solutions to get through the first season, will hopefully get a decent budget in the second season and with the loan players coming back (kacaniklic and steklenberg will be straight into the first team) and 3/4 great young players should make for a fun save I think.

I've found a good balance with a 4-2-3-1 at home , requires quick wingers with good crossing and a good striker with off the ball movement and decent in the air. At home I play control , Direct , hit early crosses , close down, if we go in front I play possession.

Away from home I do the same , except I drop in a DM instead of the AM I signed a player for this role so he has to be good and I play the same style if it's against a stronger team I play on the counter attack. It's worked so far , back to back promotions.

Playing as Notts Forest. Have made a couple of decent Signings, Deli Alli and Peruzzi from Catania. Both has been excellent. Top of the table in Mid January. Decided id sign Victor Valdes on a free. And now his value is 11 mill. Didn't think he would be worth that Much for a 33 yr old.

Almost certain you can. Click on the FM beside your game date and you should see the option to there in the drop down.

2017, he was unhappy that he wasn't getting first team football. There's some serious gems on the transfer list at the moment but I can't find room for them all

Hi, I see FM15 is released Nov 20th on iOS. I haven't played FM in years but would love to get back into it, but only have an iPad at the min.

Can I download the game from the official site (€50) and play it on my iPad?

Does it have all the same features as the PC version?

Has anyone played previous versions on iPad - how do you find it?

    Thanks

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,536 ✭✭✭Dolph Starbeam

3 promotions in a row in my Shrewsbury save. Finished 6th in the championship, Beat Villa in the Semi Final and beat Norwich in penalties in the final. Wage budged is currently €125k and stadium has just been expanded to meet PL rules, I'll have a massive 11,000 seater for next season. Don't know how I'm going to survive with this wage budget. Season has just finished so new budget will be set out soon. Going to be fun either way though.

Have to say really enjoying this years edition so far. The improved scouting is a big plus. Also feel the matches are more immersive and teams adapt their tactics better . Before I would get my tactic to a good state and barely even bother watching the matches but now I find im tweaking things more often mid game

Villa, Southampton and Newcastle could be good. RB Leipzig if you go outside of England. Good budget for Bundesliga 2 and a blank canvas as regards history seen as the club was only est. a few years back

Wow. 8 million in the bank and projected balance on 60 million at the end of the season and my wage budget is still 135k and that's leaving nothing for transfers. Can't sign players, can't loan players because I can't afford percentage of wages and struggling to keep my current players because 9k is my highest weekly wage. This is ridiculous!

I had something similar before. Took Darlington from non league to the Premier League. When we got there I had a miserable transfer and wage budget that made even competing against the bottom prem teams impossible. I asked for higher budgets and was refused so I resigned and took over at Leeds who had just been relegated from the Prem. They had a massive budget and young talented players. I got promoted immediately and won the FA Cup. Darlington got slaughtered in the Prem and went into freefall through the leagues. Stupid short-sighted board of management.

I can't even ask for more money or for them to increase player wage limit, it's not in the Board Request drop down, I'm going to ask for a new contract, I'm on about 2k a week so I think it's warranted, I might be able to get more money out of them that way.

Lads, anyone who is looking for a striker for lower league sides have a look at Craig Davies , I signed him on a free for Carlisle when I was in League two and he has been a goal scoring beast for me. Even at 32 now and in the championship he has scored 24 goals in 23 games averaging just over a goal a game.

Since making the switch to 3-4-3 attacking were on fire, balance in the team is right and in January were 23 points clear at the top and un beaten, yes 23 points! having beaten Cardiff (2nd) twice in the space of a week 3-0 at home and 5-3 away surely heading for the premiership now, Craig will be coming with me even at 33 would love to see him bag 15 next season up there...

Bargain striker lads get on it..
