Best of luck to Éire Óg Greystones who play St. Patrick's (Wicklow Town) this Sunday (14th September) in Wicklow Senior Gaelic Football Championship semi-finals in Aughrim 2pm.

The club has rarely even played in the Senior division in its long history let alone reached the final four of the championship so this is truly a game of real significance.

Despite being huge underdogs, the lads will be doing their utmost to try break the dominance of the so-called 'big, traditional' clubs who perennially win this competition and bring glory to Greystones.

With that in mind, all support would be greatly appreciated on Sunday as these proud Greystones men look to upset the odds and make history!

    Hope they do well!

I won't get to aughrim, but if there's any chance you could post some score updates that would be appreciated.

Good luck Éire Óg. Great progress by this group of lads in such a short space of time.

    Drawn game. 2-12 a piece.

Absolutely brilliant game. In my totally biased opinion Éire Óg were the better team and led for much of it. St. Pat's had to get some impressive points from distance to keep them in it. Exciting, frentic and sporting game that went right down to the wire.

The lads did themselves and the town proud today and really silenced the 'experts' who had them written off. Replay in 2 weeks most likely.

Éire Óg v St. Pat's Wicklow SFC Replay
    Tomorrow Sunday 28th September
    15.15 in Aughrim

If this game is half as good as the first match you'll be in for a treat! Éire Óg came very close to upsetting the odds 2 weeks ago and will be out to finish the job tomorrow in Aughrim. Should they win they will face Rathnew in the final.

Without exaggeration this is the biggest game in the club's history.

The club is urging all Greystones people, club-members or not, to come along and support the lads. It really does help and is greatly appreciated.

Great effort by all of the players, panel and backroom team. Have made tremendous progress over the last few years to get to this level. Just fell short today to a strong Pats team, particularly around the middle of the field, but every one of them can feel proud of their efforts.

    Well done all.
