Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It was big enough the first time :D

No Ron Vlaar starting so that's good news.

Been a tough fixture the last few years for Liverpool but it's a game tey really should be winning. Excited to see how that front line works together. Hopefully Sterling won't be required from the bench.

Interesting to note that it was against Villa that Balotelli scored his first Premier League hat-trick.

jaysus..something about that line up is fierce exciting...i have such a clue right now...

the options on the bench withstrenght from the start...first chance to look at lallanananananlama ding dong....gonna be a good un!

I understand the logic behind giving Sterling a rest, but not sure it's wise while Sturridge is out. How many reliable goalscorers are in that team? It's still exciting none the less.

What a difference with Liverpool last season being able to have a decent bench.

Its so nice to look at 'Pools bench and not be like "oh jaysus"

We spent the guts of 60 million on lalanna balo and marković so hopefully they get off the mark quickly.

Are front 3 are all new signings so I wouldn't be worried about our strikers not being goalscorers.

3 points and a clean sheet, will move us right behind Chelsea...

Hope the team can do well and gel together...basically loads of the new players are playing in this game. Looking forward to lots of attacking football.

Seriously excited about this game now after seem the line up. Sterling ain't a bad player to bring off the bench and borini might get a run out too.

3 of the front 4 making their home League debuts...

    Not confident in the slightest.

Mights have a punt on Villa, 12/1 is hard to resist.

That Villa back line is there for the taking. Pish poor.

It's alright lads, don't worry about no Sterling or Sturridge, Villa are starting Tom Cleverly. I think everything's gonna be alright.

Can not wait for this one.

Also pleased that Lambert is not starting. Shows that we are going to keep the fast paced attacking system that's worked so well for us even when we don't have our ideal starting eleven.

Tbh he is one of the few villa players I'm expecting a performance from today, guy should have a point to prove today as he makes his villa debut

Comfortable 2-0 win for Villa. Markovic OG, Lovren red card, Suarez to get another long term ban and Lallana to pick up a season ending injury.

It's only decent though. Kolo 1st reserve CB, Jones 1st reserve GK, Enrique the only other defender and Lucas the only player capable of playing in the centre on the bench, Borini poor and not wanted.

Honestly I see a few people saying this and yes, it's better than last year, but still doesn't mean it's good. Decent, I agree with.

Come on Liverpool! Can't wait for this one. Hopefully Gerrard plays a lot better than his last game and Markovic keeps his head up and doesn't appear as anonymous as he was off the bench at Spurs. Lallana I'm not worried about, class on the ball and should slot right in. Worries are Weimann's runs off the ball and Sakho's ability to snuff out danger.

    Let's go redmen! YNWA

    Hi ho

Villa really are the bogey side. Sakho should have just scooped that ball out for the throw.

Sakho made a meal of that, he really should have controlled that ball and cleared.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Sakho giving away a dodgy corner, ffs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Have to say Sakho had the ball. Should never have conceded a corner from that position.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,503 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

We only have 80 minutes to save this. Get Borini and Lambert on for Sakho and Lovren quick, we've no time to waste!
