Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Louth captain and star man has announced he's retiring from inter county football to focus on work commitments and to clear long term injury problems

He won Louth's only ever all-star in 2010 and was widely considered one of the best midfielders in the country. He might also go down as one of Louth's best ever players.

I thought that this would be worth highlighting in it's own thread as there isn't a Louth specific thread (at least not one that's been updated in the last 8 or 9 years). I'm sure though most people here would have had great respect for him as a player

This is surely a big blow to Louth and it would be difficult for them to replace him. Definitely harms their chances in the league and championship in the coming years

A great player.Such a pity the 2010 Leinster Final turned out as it did as he really deserved a Leinster medal.

Players like Paddy Keenan are what make the GAA great but also its one of the sad thing about the sport that so many great players never get the success they deserve,

An absolute legend for us in the red jersey of Louth.
He carried the team for years with his performances, driving the team on.

He will be sorely missed in the middle of the field for Louth.
Even in the days when we were getting beaten ( and sometimes beaten heavily ) , Paddy never gave up or dropped the effort.
Covered every blade of grass with elegance and style.

Shame to see him retire, especially when tougher times could be around the corner for us.Getting out of division 3 seems an awful lot harder now.

But he owes the county nothing, gave everything he had for us on the pitch.
A true Louth Legend.Thank you Paddy for everything .

John Galvin deserved the All Star.
