bike auction

I understand the guards have an auction of unclaimed bikes every so often. In regard to the Dublin one

- where does it take place ?
- when does it normally take place ?
- can anyone just turn up and just buy a bike ?
- Can the bikes be inspected or even cycled a few yards beforehand ?
- is the format just some auctioneer doing his
usual routine ? (all the quick talking, winks, banging of the little hammer etc )

anyone ever bought a bike this way before, like are there bargains to be had. ... would the auctioneer actually know a pile of ****e from a good bike.

i suspect most of the good bikes would be quickly reclaimed by their owners before it got to auction.

Was there once. People went crazy bidding bringing prices every high for anything that was half decent. Other than that there is a load of crap. Wouldn't bother again.

been once before, waste of time and as others have said a largely poor collection of bikes with eejits bidding mad money for crap. You're much better sticking to Adverts/Donedeal as theres a far better selection and prices are negotiable.
