Lodging a cheque with my new name.

    Hello,

    I've recently changed my First name by deed poll.

    I haven't been able to change my Bank of Ireland account details to my new name yet.


    I've just been issued a Cheque in my new name and am not sure how
    to go about lodging this, as the name on the cheque does not currently 
    match my account name.

    Please Help!

    Hi Hamhide, 

    Thank you for getting in contact with us here on Boards.ie. 

    Your local Bank of Ireland branch will be more than happy help you change your name on your account and lodge the cheque for you. .

    Just pop into your branch with the cheque, photo ID and the official forms from Deed Poll confirming your change of name. Once the name has been updated on your account the cheque can then be lodged.
