Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Welbeck has prob been our best player. He's linking up well and getting in the right positions but he isn't taking his chances. Which is a problem with him. Always has been

A good finisher would've had a hat trick with the chances he's gotten in this game.

How long has it been since an Arsenal striker scored?

And an early goal against city.

I was happy we got someone in but my worry is that welbeck will score 10,maybe 15 depending on how many games and this will stop Wenger buying the 1 in 2 striker we need

If Syczensy cut off half the madness he'd be a very good goalkeeper

Sanchez has been playing on the wing for us, not as a striker.

Wenger doesn't like to play people where they play best.

Dortmund have been sh*te in the final third to be honest. Should be 4 or 5 up.

Ah no sure we were told all summer arteta and flamini are enough.

Arsene's fault or is it just a bad day at the office?

At least. Shocked at how bad we have been. A really shocking performance.

Oh dear Jesus, what the fúck is Welbeck doing. Bring on the Pod please

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,435 ✭✭✭wandatowell

If it makes any difference, Giroud probably would have missed that too

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,393 ✭✭✭Ed Winchester

Welbeck has to hit the target there. Just HAS to.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Ah Welbeck has to hit the target there.

Side note, I like that arsenal jersey

    We're lucky it's only 2-0.

    We're lucky to have 0

Podolski spending five minutes looking for his shin pad while we are two goals down.... Its takes the bench five minutes to decide the best solution would be to borrow one.... Sums up the whole game for us .... ASLEEP!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 597 ✭✭✭UnitedWeStand

Ozil has been average for a while. He needs to be played more centrally, if hes gonna be kept in the position hes playing in then to be honest Cazorla should be playing there based on Ozils form.

As much as Wenger is perhaps the best coach on the planet for developing youth and players, he can really be found out tactically at times .

The lad is getting in the right positions despite the rubbish service. He'll come good. Slagging him off after his second game is pathetic.

The biggest shock for me tonight has been the complete lack of cohesion and urgency with the team. Very worried now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Ouch....

How is the likes of that not a free out. Surely that is classed as a tackle after the ball is cleared?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,382 ✭✭✭✭greendom

This is as bad as some of ourbig away defeats last season. Had Dortmund been at full strength perhaps the score would have been similar

He'll get more chances but he has missed 5 out of 5. Needs to improve his finishing in fairness.

    That sums up our night

Ozil has been average for a while. He needs to be played more centrally

That will require a change of system, Arsene will not do such a thing.

    Good man Ox.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,920 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

The defense there let the lad run straight through, crazy!

Arsenal are very lucky Dortmund aren't more clinical

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

    Brilliant tackle from Ox

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

OMFG why the hell do they let them run through us every time!

I think Wellback's done alright tonight. Yes he hasn't scored, but he's made space and created a great chance with that turn. His finishing will get better.

Replace Welbeck with Torres/Eto'o/Ba and you sum up our season last year. :o

Arteta was absolute fúcking clown shoes tonight, as was ozil

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,382 ✭✭✭✭greendom

I really hope we discover that the whole team came down with food poisoning before the game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,408 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Wenger should feel embarrassed tonight even more than the team in my view.

Hard to know what the matter is. Did the weekend game take confidence from them as we couldn't close the game out? Form is very off tonight.

He's got into good positions but how many times has he forced a save from the keeper? Not once.
You have to hit the target at least. He didn't do it once.

Looking through both teams playing tonight, our team man for man is a fair bit better than Dortmunds. That just proves its a tactically decisive win for Klopp.

Thank Christ that's over. A truly awful performance.
The scoreline is very kind to Arsenal and doesn't tell the whole story at all.
