Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Newcastle United midfielder Jonás Gutiérrez has revealed he has testicular cancer. Gutiérrez, 31, is recovering at home in Argentina after having surgery.

In an interview with TyC Sports he said: “I detected a tumor in a testicle. When I confirmed the cancer, I went home crying.

“I came here and I assumed the costs despite having a contract with Newcastle. Money is not important. What is important is my health. I had to start chemotherapy.

“I had the operation in Argentina. I returned to England and Newcastle told me to leave.”

Gutiérrez spent the second half of last season on loan at Norwich and has not featured for Newcastle since last October.

check yizzer balls lads, this is an easily findable and treatable cancer.

My cousin is on his last round of treatment for this disease. It's definitely treatable if you get there in time. His symptoms were lower back pain and then after a could of months he developed rapid weight loss. Know all the symptoms not just the lumps and bumps!

Have a good friend who went through this when he was only 22/23. All is well with him now.

Agree with the sentiments above, be smart about it lads. If you treat it early you can beat it.

One of the most terrifying diseases out there for blokes; psychologically as well as physically.

Bit graphic here, but whatever... sometimes it needs to be said:

Check your balls every time you have a shower. Feel for lumps, bumps and anything that just seems a bit "odd" with them. The shower's warm water also loosens everything up down there and makes it easier to do. And if you do find something that appears out of place, GO TO YOUR DOCTOR!!! Don't be embarrassed to do so. Your doctor has seen it all before and unless you've grown a second mickey, nothing will be unusual for them.

    Look after your balls! :D

...also, a proper self-examination of the testicles involves moving them into uncomfortable positions, not just a quick feel around the front of them, pull them slightly down and get in around the back of them too - they are naturally lumpy and bumpy so get to know them and then if you do feel any kind of twinge at a later date then you'll know if anything feels different.

and yeah, if you find something do something, better to known as "oneball" than have people say "he should have went to the doctor".

If your referring to the 'Newcastle told me to leave' comment then I'm sure it means they told him to go home to get his treatment and not to worry about football etc.

    You'd think so alright.

Given the characters polluting the club right now, you never know.

Anyway, all that matters is the wellbeing of Jonas. Best wishes to him and his family.

    Its a very treatable disease.

its not a pleasant experience by any means but if your going to get cancer this baby is the one to get.

98% dont have to worry about the after effects.
