In fairness, Bray were very weak. They had four subs, and a 700 on board 2. We should be safe now, but nothing more than that.

Nice recovery! How did Dun Laoighre and Portmarnock get on last night?
3½-2½ to Dún Laoghaire

Means the table after round 6 is -
Pos	Team MP	GW	GD	GL	Def	Pts
1	Round Tower	6	20	9	7	0	24 1/2
2	Curragh 6	18	10	8	0	23
3	Elm Mount	6	17	8	11	0	21
4	Dún Laoghaire	6	16	9	11	0	20 1/2
5	Skerries	6	18	2	16	0	19
6	Aer Lingus	6	8	20	8	0	18
7	Inchicore	6	13	10	13	0	18
8	St Benildus	6	14	6	16	0	17
9	Celbridge	6	13	7	16	0	16 1/2
10	Portmarnock	6	11	8	17	0	15
11	Bray/Greystones	6	9	12	15	1	14
12	Phibsboro	6	6	5	25	0	8 1/2

Hard to see a way back for Phibsboro. Elm Mount v Round Tower and Dún Laoghaire v Skerries next round.

Officialy, 3 Teams to be promoted from Divisions 4-7 this year. This is due to only 1 team being relegated from Division 2.

Good news?!

• Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,256 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

From divisions 3 to 7.

Good news? Yes if you're going for promotion. No if you're going for relegation!

I think in previous seasons, one down two up was the usual way to fix a gap in the leagues. I don't think it really matters which is used. It suits us as it makes promotion from the Bodley that bit easier and I don't think the O'Hanlon are in any relegation danger. :)

It's good news for us too. I think you would be getting promotion from the Bodley in any case.

Only 2 teams are going up from the Ennis not 3.

Duh. Of course.

We're flying in the Bodley, but this now means we can slip against ye and still be ok. Right now, it gives us a further one point gap back to non-promotion. It's nice.

Just realised our Bs are well down the bottom though! Oh well. Tis only a game sure.

I'd much prefer to be fighting for promotion or relegation than to be mid table. Makes it more exciting to have something to play for!

• Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,256 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

Well that's true alright. This has more spots going than one-down-two-up

So the interesting question is...

Who will get 3rd place in Division 4, Elm Mount, D. Laoghaire or Skerries. Could/will D.L. overtake Curragh ?

• Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 2,165 Mod ✭✭✭✭L1m1tless

Still all to fight for. No plaques for 3rd place!

It seems that there are many strong teams in the lower leagues at the moment, which makes the three up, two down system preferable in my opinion.

That too!

How did Dun Laoighaire do versus Skerries?

• Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,256 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

Dún Laoghaire 3½-2½ Skerries
Bray/Greystones 4½-1½ Celbridge
Phibsboro 1½-4½ Aer Lingus
Elm Mount 1½-4½ Round Tower

So the league table is -
Pos	Team MP	GW	GD	GL	Def	Pts
1	Round Tower	7	24	10	8	0	29
2	Dún Laoghaire	7	19	10	13	0	24
3	Curragh 6	18	10	8	0	23
4	Aer Lingus	7	12	21	9	0	22 1/2
5	Elm Mount	7	18	9	15	0	22 1/2

8	Celbridge	7	14	8	20	0	18
9	Inchicore	6	13	10	13	0	18
10	St Benildus	6	14	6	16	0	17
11	Portmarnock	6	11	8	17	0	15

Curragh V Benildus, Round 2 Tomorrow!

• Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 7,256 Mod ✭✭✭✭cdeb

Curragh 5-1 St Benildus

Round 3 at the end of the month (Bodley), followed by another Bodley game in March. We'll have to win one of those!

Benildus 4.5-1.5 Elm Mount.

Everything went right! Bit of a get out of jail free

Phibsboro 1.5 - 4.5 St. Benildus

• Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 2,165 Mod ✭✭✭✭L1m1tless

Curragh 2.5 Dun Laoighre 3.5 A great result for us, and unlucky not to have done better in the end! Dun Laoighre aren't as strong as they seam on paper.

St Benildus 2-4 Round Tower. Great performance from us; four really close games and a quick hammering each. But that we turned a pawn ending from won to lost in one move, we'd have gotten a draw despite a huge gap in ratings

• Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 2,165 Mod ✭✭✭✭L1m1tless

Any other results from last night please?

• Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 2,165 Mod ✭✭✭✭L1m1tless

Inchicore 1.5 Curragh 4.5

At long last we get a win against Inchicore! Their venue is really nice, very spacious and comfortable! Thanks

Congratulations to Rround Towers division 4 champions! I think we gave you a bit of a scare at one stage but only one team deserved to be champions!
