Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just like the busses you can now use your contactles credit/debit cards instead of an oyster on the tubes.

The oyster card is kinda redundant now isn't it?

Yup, They are working on making it nationwide too. So that ticket you buy online to get to Scotland will be on your debit card.

Yip. Time to cash in the oysters for the deposit.

I don't have a contactless bank card. They'll have to prise my Oyster from my dead hands.

Ditto. On a monthly zone 1-2 card so things are fine for me just as they are, but contactless is very convenient for my OH who only uses public transport at the weekend or for pints.

We will have to be a bit more careful placing wallets near the readers. Could debit any one of 4 cards in my wallet. Lol

I'm the same. I only use public transport at the weekend so I'm always pay as you go.
I shouldnt have any need for my oyster card anymore.

Does any contactless debit card work? e.g. one from an Irish bank?
And does it need to be registered (as an oyster replacement) before it can be used?

Doesn't need to be registered. think it should work fine.

I used an AMEX contactless card there over the weekend. It must be said, they're quite noticeably slower than oyster cards...

Same cost as oyster card or more expensive per journey?

If you use an Irish card your host bank will charge you a foreign transaction fee so your trips could get very expensive.

Ya they will be slower because the transaction needs to be authorised by a bank where as an oyster is local.

It certainly sends the hairs on the back of the neck prickling when you're trying to tap off at Hackney Wick when at the front of a crowd of thirsty revellers on a Saturday night at ten o'clock looking to get their fill!

How does it work exactly? I always just scan my wallet so which card will be charged if I've both oyster and my bank card?

It will debit the first card it reads. So if you have a zone card on your oyster I would start removing it from your wallet as it could debit the wrong card.
